Whats your favorite size monitor

I have a 24.6" on the way from newegg, been using a 22" as my primary for several months and find it to be a good size. I think my second monitor which is a 20" is a little small, but is nice.

How big do you really need?

Anyone actually prefer a single display to multi displays? I used a dual setup at work for a while and I run a single 24" at home. I think I actually like the single 1900x1200 24" better. I can still run windows side by side if necessary then go full screen for excel / photoshop / porn etc. Feel like it keeps my attention more focused.

I have a very odd setup of my MacBook Pro on a stand with my 32" TV behind and above it (on a higher shelf that's fitted to my desk). I actually prefer the single MacBook Pro's screen, I only use the TV for video or if I need loads of info up at once.

To the OP, best to see both in person if possible. I would say that the 27" would be a better investment, you'll get used to it quickly.

I like my 24's. I don't think I'd want to work on anything smaller than a 22.

I do have an old 15 inch (boxy kind) on an old pc I just use to run bots. But I'm literally on that one for 15 seconds and then I walk away for hours.

Right now I have 23" and a 24" only because I didnt read carefully enough before buying the 24" one. But I've been using them for a while and no complaints.

My current setup is one 24" 1920x1200 dead center and dual 17" (non wide screen) on either side in portrait mode. The unfortunate part about this is that the native resolution on the 17s is 1280px, while the 24" is 1200px.

My ideal setup would be a 30" dead center with dual 24" (non wide screen) on either side in portrait mode. Then the resolutions would be 1600px across all three monitors.

Otherwise I would take 3 x 30".

I've worked on dual 24" monitors in all my work places for the last 8 years or so and while they are ok, I don't like constantly looking left/right with a vertical bar right in the middle of my vision, I much prefer one central focal point.

I have a 23" and 21" side by side , any bigger than the 23" and I think it would be too close.., your eyes can only absorb so much when your 2-3 feet away..

Yeah, I opted to go for one 30" rather then 2 24's or any other set up. It gives me less screen real estate but I like going from running dual windows to looking at one big thing in excel/photoshop - specially excel for some of the huge data sets I work with.

I also agree with the other guy that said he prefers one single focal point with side monitors then looking side to side between two. I'd go for some monitors on the side for myself but it would likely be waste of money since I just don't use that much screen real estate. The only benefit for me would be having a chat window open when I'm taking a break and playing a game/watching something so I could see if I needed to respond to anything.
