What's Your Motivation?

My motivation is to make the most use of my skills and knowledge, I personally hate to see people waste their talent/creativity especially when it gives them an advantage over everybody else. For us throwing up a wordpress blog and monetizing it is boring and mundane task, but 99% of the people out there will never even know how to setup and manage a domain name or hosting account, much less do any type of internet marketing.

Most people would kill for the opportunity to work from home or be their own boss but for one reason or another they'll never be able to accomplish that and unless they strike the lotto or something they're going to be chained to that desk until the day they retire. A quick look through Deliguy's thread will probably make you appreciate the information you know and the skills you have that other people just don't.

But that one thing I am working on, man it had me so pumped I just kept working. Sometimes you just catch a groove and want to ride it as long as you can.

^^ this is exactly why I love hacking.

Sometimes I'll be working, then suddenly realize it's 5:30 in the morning. I get so enveloped in what I'm doing I loose track. It used to happen when I played video games.

In fact, I came to the realization one day, that, if worked on making money as hard as I worked on getting the next level, I could be a millionaire. I'm currently testing this hypothesis.

Send money to family that thought you would amount to nothing? I would give them nothing just like they expected.

They certainly had reasons to believe that. I was on the 7 year plan in college and I was lazy as fuck. Once they cut me off completely there was a fire under my ass. Lesson for parents: let your kids sink or swim and they will.

My motivation is to have enough money (7-8 figures) by around 2025 to start my own privately owned corporation that will be the first to pioneer and develop real Artificial Intelligence (machines that are more intelligent than humans).

hahahaahahhahaahhahah

I'm 34. I tried to pull an all nighter last year and I felt like I was dying. I would regularly go 2 or 3 days without sleep in my early 20s, but I can't do it anymore.

I was doing it once or twice a month between March of 07 and Dec 08 when I was working for a startup, I'm 33 now and don't plan on doing it again unless it's for my own business instead of somebody elses.

I want to be RICH, not so I can inundate myself with material crap, but so that I can afford myself the time and resources to channel my creations into reality, free of the current debt crunch I'm in and without limiting my supply of materials and tools.

This guy, I think he's onto something.
