When to ask for payout bump?

If someone will actually talk to me and ask for a bump, in most cases I'll give it. I'm more about personal relationships than short term riches. More payout = more volume = more margin. It's a win / win / win situation for eveyrone in my eyes.

Anyone know what margins are typical for the networks?

Ie if Acaiburn pays $45, is it standard for the network to get $60 or more from the advertiser?

Depends on the network, and the offer. Street payouts 15-20%, If your doing good volume you can normally get them down to ~5% (assuming they dont have a 5% referral to give out).

I've actually never had to ask for a bump. I get random messages every so often saying "Hey the advertiser loves your traffic if we give you a higher payout will you push more?"

So I push more and get a bump.

The key term is consistency. As long as you are staying consistent for about 2 weeks you should as for a bump if you're generating over $xxxx. But then again like Eagle said it depends on your relationship with your AM or network...

Just ask anything you want, even if it's before running their campaigns. Most will give you a dollar or two bump starting out as an incentive and then raise you more later on. That's how it works for me. And if they deny you, then ask them if they'll raise you once you show them you'll bring in quality traffic. There's nothing to be scared of.

What everyone else said just ask and your gonna get it.

Its almost impossible for them to say no unless they are already on some low ass margins. They know there's a lot networks out there you can work for and some money is better than no money.
