Good luck breaking an SSH tunnel.

As stated before, make sure your HTTP connections are utilizing SSL.

Make sure your FTP connections are done over SFTP instead.

Encrypt the contents of your emails into .gif images?

The answer really depends: Who's trying to break the security? Then, how secure is the connection???

DIY SSH Tunnel

I've been working in coffee shops for a while, and finally got paranoid about some of my non SSL accounts. I looked at a few of the different options, and ended up setting this up:
