Where are you guys buying your content?

what's more important to you guys -

writer that work/exp in the niche or
great research and writing skills (no exp in niche) ?

assuming both native

btw as for me i usually try to find those native work-at-home-moms. they are great for small/med sites but for big brand i think a native writer, educated and experienced in the niche is a must

$5/500 words for crappy ESL content? I feel sorry for you guys.

I get 'Murican college-speaking native-student 1337moneysite content for $2.50/500 words. In fact, I've gotten so many job applications that I've had to use some of the extras for my blog network.

Hint: look for the peasants

I have once bought content on Seoclerks with a very affordable price. The sellers are professional too. Have you ever tried?

SEOClerks content is a very good writing is publish, by America writers. If you look for a good quality, for website, buy SEOClerks content, is a best choice.

I just go to elance.com and hire people who are in the "field" of my niche that I'm working in. I put it in the ad on elance.com that they have to be US or Canadian and work or have experience in my niche. I hire about 8~10 of the people that apply for the writing assignment. So, I'm spending $100 or so to test out the writers I've found and then hire 1~2 of them to write all my content for the site and usually pay them $2.0/100 words with articles being around 700~1,000 words each. So I'm usually in a site for about $1,500~$2,000 in content.

You're wasting your time screwing around trying to get content cheap. You'll usually end up with crap content which will effect your conversion rates and increase your bounce rates.
That seems to be a lot of money to throw in for content - how long until you breaking even, 3 - 4 months? Also do you have your writers write everything at once in the beginning (and then you drip it on the site) or let them write while the site is gaining visitors?
