aside from freelancer.com and elance.com ?

i dont think other sites will work well since my payment terms is based on commissions.

by the way, has anyone tried posting a similar project like the one above?

i don't know how the freelancers will react to this because I won't be paying them after they've won the auction. only when they make a sale..

if you have any other sites in mind where you have found good cold callers, feel free to post them.

thanks in advance.

thanks numerouno. I definitely be looking into that. Have you gone this route yourself...? If so, what sort of thing would you look for in a good sales person? I have just begun hiring some people and am pretty new to the whole hiring gig. THanks!

Basically, if their role is simply to sell, make them sell themselves. I always start my interviews by asking : Who are you and why should I hire you and not someone else. Lookout for their experience and this job can be really though and only a few are able to do this for a long time.

You also want them to have a clear voice over the phone, if you have difficulty to understand them, don't hire them as it could be worst for other people. Otherwise, as I said, you need an hustler, let's say a polite hustler, the goal is to make sales and build trust, you need someone that has good skills in human relations.

Otherwise, I also suggest you take 2-3 for a test with like 20-30 leads each, compare their numbers and make sure they like to sell your product.

Good luck!

don't forget monster.com - you can advertise for 2 wks for $99 - call it something like appointment setters. there are a ton of at-home workers willing to do this type of work. however the "cold" caller part will most likely turn them off! you never know until you try though!

This. Go to a college and post some flyers. Make sure the person doesn't have an attitude or a hoochi accent. I would interview 20 students a week if I were you. Ask for their GPA too cause that will reflect on their work ethic and for females if you can flirt with them they will flirt your potential customers into a closed sale :bowdown:. I use to hire people for my friend's biz but now I'm gonna hire my own and will be using those guidelines

Join call center groups on LinkedIn - There are always centers with spare capacity willing to whore out their employees for whatever will pay them.

Thanks Hack and numerouno. I posted an ad on craigslist and am going to give a few campuses in town a shot tomorrow. I will post back shortly with my results.

odesk...amazing for cheap, reliable and fast work. I have begun to have a couple sites made up through odesk and can`t say enough good stuff. SO CHEAP!! However, for this sort of thing, I would sort of prefer that the individual was from in town. For many reasons, but mostly the folks on odesk have strong accents and their english writing has much to be desired.

@Johu I am going to check out linkedIn too.

Thanks for the suggestions and help : )

I'm going to college now and I'm looking to do the same thing. I'm starting by doing all the cold calls myself, and then get a couple hustle type college kids to just listen to me doing my calls and have them replicate it. If they are worth hiring they should be able to catch on pretty quickly.

Although interviews can be important I think on the job evaluation like this would be better for both sides... I'll know if the person knows his/her shit and they'll know if this type of work is something they can see themselves doing.

BTW are people here paying straight commissions or some sort of a hybrid model?

Placed ads on Craigslist and some local Job Search sites. Also, searched FB for local college and university pages and groups...posted there too. No luck so far haha...oh well. Made a fuck load calls today...varied success.

Sometimes, the best resource it is to stop using websites.
Load up a chat program, any program. Just spin the big wheel or randomness...
And then talk to someone from the Philippines.

People there will work dirt cheap (they line up to move to China because wages are better!), and they speak English pretty well and with an accept that you can understand (which makes me wonder why so many companies have call centers in India.)

Something like 1/7 people in the islands works at a call center. Let them know they can work from home for competitive pay and you'll be a god among men.

thing is, some business owners don't want to bother with telemarketers who have a foreign accent. this is why my best bet is to hire someone from the US.
