Is there a way to check which pages are most visited on the website?

So if I go to cnn.com, I want to see pages that get most traffic.

Thanks

The page on cnn.com that gets most traffic is cnn.com

look for the page with the most words on it. typically for a news site like cnn.com the word to visitor ratio is 1:1. so say you find a page with 5000 words on it, that means it gets 5000 visitors.

Also true for search engines. Google.com has 87 words... so about right.

there's actually a pretty simple math equation for that,

visitors to a page = (X + (X^(-23y+5)))/XY^2

where X = eat shit and Y= and die

You should only be scared if you intend to ask retarded questions.

If you think your question might be retarded ask it in the newbie forum.

duly noted.

what happens if i have questions that likely couldn't be answered by a newbie, but to some sr IMers may seem retarded?

i.e. if i'm doing research on various advertising channels (Adsonar) and checking out the landing pages of people that are advertising there...and on a landing page is an aff link, not hidden or redirected or sent to prosper202 or wherever, could i assume that this person is doing it wrong? and is likely a noob (since they're not testing)

or what would a typical referral link on a pro's LP look like? either be sent to another page on the same domain, then redirected (to prosper)?

Forget about that. In the instance you are talking about, look for advertisers that are consistently running on AS. If you see that person in a high traffic spot (e.g. AOL), over a long period of time, they obviously are doing ok. Or like losing assloads of money.

Edit> Just because they are though, doesn't mean you will succeed by copying their LP and running in the same position. There are a lot of dynamics at play (other placements they are running that could be higher ROI and offsetting, avg CPC, private payouts etc).

OP - I would normally pile on, but I'm in a good mood today.

Newspulse shows you what stories are getting the most attention: NewsPulse - Get the news filtered the way you want and see what's popular - CNN.com . You can change the time frame in the upper right (15 mins, 1hr, 24 hrs etc) and there are a bunch of other filtering options in the left column. Between the popularity bar and the number of comments each story is receiving, you should get a general idea of where the pageviews are going on CNN for a given period.

thank you. this makes sense.
my intent wasnt to blatantly copy, but just get ideas of what (seems to) work for others.

ive been in that "hold off, observe, learn from others' mistakes" place" for too long and want to jump in with both feet. Adsonar disproved my Teeth Whitening LP, after depositing $100 so im looking for something else to promote...also, i need a place to promote this TW LP. Preferably in Canada since its where i am, and with the Dec1st/Testimonial/FTP bullshit, it might be a wise idea.

cheers

Being in Canada isn't gonna do jack shit when it comes to FTC compliance, so don't think that you can just geo-target Canada in order to escape their rules.

Did you find out why your Teeth Whitening LP was disapproved? Why not make the compliance changes in order to run it instead of just jumping into a new vertical because you were disapproved. At that rate you'd never be able to spend your $100 (which will be gone in seconds with most Adsonar placements) because you're giving up way too easily.
