and BTW, rich people don't fight over resources?!? read a newspaper once in a while, or possibly a history book.

I don't like to weigh-in on this stuff too much here. I have other places to do that. But I'll just share personal observation/anecdotes ( hey. that's all these incidents are really).

I am white. Grew up pretty awkward, full of anxiety. Pretty dorky looking, easy prey. I lived in an entirely black neighborhood. I was the only white kid around. I almost never had any issues with anyone. I walked down the street for miles, rode my bike, so on. This was a Mid-atlantic area. fairly diverse in terrain/population. Below the Mason-Dixon but not "south", go 10 miles in either direction and you are on the beach, in chicken shit, or "olde town" main street. By far I had more issues with white dudes and wannabe-kkk types starting shit than any black folks over racial stuff.

I did have people ask me things like "Do you really feel safe walking down the street there?" Yeah, why not? Some of the questioners were black, BTW. If I had any problems, I can't recall any being racial based. The few that seemed that way at the time were based on other things. For the most part most of the older/adult black neighbors kept a look at for me, and were far more friendly than any middle class whites I have ever encountered.

I remember things like white classmates or their parents offering me rides home ( I walked to school before I could drive) and being completely shocked when I told them where to drop me off. They tended to assume I was just asking them to drop me off somewhere that wouldn't be out of their way, not where I really lived. And these assumptions were based entirely on the racial make-up, not the "class" or quality of the neighborhood. Most of my neighbors were teachers, business owners, a couple lawyers. One guy had 2 companies and was a county commissioner for many years. Other dude was on city council and his son ( my classmate) was a 3 sport star, 4.0 gpa, and division 1 athlete. My best friend lived down the street. His parents were a dietician and an arborist. He was in the Air Force for many years and is now an accountant. There were a couple thugs and crack heads around, sure. Some were even my friends at some point.

Now, if you wanted to walk about 2 miles down over a bridge, past a church and take a left, you would find yourself in a Section 8 area with apartments and a park known for drugs and shit. Most of the tenants were black there, but it was an entirely different world than my 99% black neighborhood. About the only thing in common was the racial make-up- and the section 8 area was probably MORE white, if anything. I would consider that are a "bad neighborhood", though I can't recall much violence even there.

Right now I live in the midwest, and my neighborhood is probably 50/50 White/black-hispanic-other. Never had any issues. Black neighbors are the friendliest, as usual. Only crime is from white meth dudes who don't live in the area.

I'm black. That was a bunch of stupid people. There is really not much more to say. Nothing about any particular race, neighborhood or political party. Stupid human beings with a mob mentality. Disgraceful to my race and to my species.

it's funny when people say "disgraceful to my race". how the fuck is it disgraceful to blacks? your actions in no way represent me, my beliefs or my personality. they can go fuck themselves.

it doesnt matter, you act a fool.. you might get shot

i dont care if you black, white, russian, asian, wtf ever. you put on your pants the same way as everyone else, so if you act a clown, be prepared for what comes next.
