Good old McCain smoked the brand new magician Obama. I especially liked the part about Free Trade, Obama has very little idea how it works. McCain killed on energy, taxes, abortion, trade, and of course Plumber Joe. If Obama wins then welcome to Europe.
Honestly they both suck. Our government is completely corrupt, and they both have hidden agendas. We are the home of the free, yet china as more of a free market than the US does after buying out all of the financial shit. We have horrible anti-privacy laws, that were waiting to be implemented at the next big event (9-11). Screw em all.
McCain is clueless and only tries to attack Obama's character. Can I come visit you in Europe?

Ummm, wouldn't they be able to, you know, decide at, like, the voting station?
That sorta seems to be the place that they'd have their last chance to decide, seeing as there are, well, newspapers and media out lets that may or may not contain information that'll colour their decision either way between now and then.
I mean, I'd kind of hate to think there are people who locked in their decision thanks to that, only for it to come out in the wash that McCain's actually secretly funneling money to Hamas, or Obama's a member of the KKK... and it's too late to think about changing their vote because they had their last chance to decide who to vote for today.

Voters have until they actually cast their votes. It will be the last time that these two will face off and we can see them side by side.
By the way. Did Obama look more presedential and McCain more like a Senator? Camera effects?
It doesn't really matter to me. Florida will fuck up the ballots anyways and screw the votes lol. I think McCain is going to be just as bad as Bush, minus sending us to war. He is an old dog with the same old tricks that haven't been working. I think Obama will be apt to try out new things, if they don't work we fall off the face of the earth. If they do work, we all bow at his feet. It is a toss up. We are fucked with McCain because his party runs him, he is just a puppet. Obama may try some new tactics, but they could possibly fail in a horrid way.
We are screwed for the next 4 years. It is sad that we are stuck with no good options. It would be nice to have someone good up for the running so at least we have an option.

McCain tried to brawl but that can only work so far. The whole Joe the Plumber (like the earlier Palin iteration of 'Joe Six-pack') archetype repetition might work against McCain. People don't like being caricaturized and stereotyped. While the intention is good ('we're on the side of the small businessperson') it might turn off more people than it appeals to. Obama just needed to run the clock.

Reagan captured the Baby boomer generation's disenchantment with 60's liberal politics as the boomers became business owners and homeowners, Obama's ascendancy might reflect the coming of political age and idealism of the PC (politically correct) generation of the late 80s and 90s.
I'm not hoping for a democrat win. Quite the opposite. However, the wind is definitely blowing in that direction

"Joe the Plumber" is enough to make a free market tax-hater like myself hate that guy and McCain. I also don't like hypotheticals that have a 0.0001% chance of being true shaping a debate. I mean I hope that one day Joe does turn the 2 man plumbing business that he works for into a >$250,000 Net profit plumbing operation that he owns. Good luck to him on that. But I might as well ask Obama if I manage to get pregnant if he supports a man's right to choose whether to abort the baby in his womb. ( FWIW, "pro-life" McCain has previously answered hypotheticals by saying it would be a private matter if his daughter wanted to have an abortion.). Mostly people like scapegoats and need someone to blame for their own lack of success.
I know plenty of guys who own a construction business, and make close to a mill. Some employ up to 40 guys. This will trickle down to the employees and the cost to consumers. Believe me, its the law of economics.

I think the people that make over $250k need to realize that they should want to pay a little more in taxes otherwise their US dollar is not going to be worth anything if we have to keep borrowing to pay down the debt. Either we pay taxes now or we get "taxed" covertly through inflation of goods and deflation of our currency. At least with taxes you know how much your paying.
I think the trickle up approach makes more sense and hence why a tax cut for the middle class which is 95% of the US is a good idea. If middle class people have more money in their pockets their going to buy more stuff especially online. If rich people have money their going to put it into investments or hold it during recessions not spend it on hiring more people -look at ebay.

Rich people make way more then 250k first of all. Middle class is small business owners who are right about at 200-300k. Why should they pay more, they use the same government services all the poor schmucks use out there and less. (roads, police, social crap, parks, regulation, etc) Okay lets punish the hardworking and successful.
What motivation do I have to make over 250k - one dollar over and your taxes through the roof. Ill stop, lay off one on my employees and cut my marketing.
