Who's Taken The h1n1 FluMist Vaccine?

2 people that are friends of my FB account who have taken the flu vaccine have gotten "Deathly Sick" after taking the vaccine.

For me , I'm just gonna stay away from people.

Better deathly sick than deathly dead, don't you think?

There's no solid evidence that H1N1 is any more sever than the regular seasonal flu. We keep hearing a lot of talk about it mutating, but the regular seasonal flu does too.

The CDC in 2003 estimated that on average about 36,000 people die every year in the US from the flu or complications created by the flu, but in all honesty they have no clear number as states are not necessarily required to report deaths by the flu.

So stop hyping it up like your just going to fall dead if you did catch h1n1 or not get a vaccine. Vaccines are like condoms, yeah it's there but it might not work.

Our Doctor didn't even prescribe anything for it, said it would pass just like the regular flu.
Hell, my kid's school didn't even report it when a bunch of kids came down with it last week (how i got it eventually).

Just another great example of how easy it is to sell fear. I'm not sick, so I should get sick in case I might get sick........

Time to start selling H1N1 insurance policies and make some serious bank.

Yes, people are dying and it could get much worse but it's still way behind the yearly destruction caused by the normal no-name plain jane seasonal flu. Taking the vaccine is really no guarantee and could just cause its own problems and complications. The amount of hype and worry is simply not proportional to the amount of deaths.

no weird side effects ? doctors said is one in million to what happen to her but I rather take my chances of just getting normal flue and deal with with. If you work out and drink alot of water and eat healthy you rarely get sick . True story

and she is fucking beautiful , so sad.

The CDC needs to do a relaunch campaign. Polls are showing a large portion of parents are unwilling to have their kids receive the swine juice/mist.

Know the risks, get informed about H1N1 virus - Rockford, IL - Rockford Register Star

If that sentiment persists through Christmas, somebody's going to be embarrassed.

The CDC needs to say "only 147,846,887 doses left! We expect to be sold out by November! Get yours before they're gone!" Then, have a countdown clock on their site that ticks off the doses. And hero shots showing a culturally diverse group of smiling, attractive, kids getting stuck or sprayed. That'll move the inventory.

Yep, it's all about the money here in the U.S. for certain. Public health is just the Flogg. LOL

It's not that it's necessarily more severe, but it is more severe to different parts of the population than the normal flu is.

I haven't seen anything unusual vs the regular flu. By all means lay the info on me because I'm not seeing it.

Well, 22 hours after taking the mist, I feel fine (except for some lower back pain).

I think I made the very first swine flu thread on WF back in April making fun of people for freaking out. However, while I'd still make fun of you for freaking out, it isn't something to mess with. After seeing my friend's sister on a breathing machine, I didn't want to take the chance (normal flu kicks my ass anyway, hardcore).

On a side note, the day my friend's sister finally got out of the hospital, a kid died from h1n1 just 2 days after getting it. The doctors are saying the child had no health conditions that they know of.

On top of all that, there are 4 schools in my area closed today because at least 30% of the kids were out with the flu. My point? I don't really have one. If you don't want to get the vaccine, don't do it. Survival of the fittest, right? But if you do want to get it, go for it, it won't kill you.

right now... its not like they were giving out spiked koolaid, you may regret it later.

ugh... I take back my last post about feeling fine. I typed that while still in bed.

Now that I'm up and around my back is killing me, I have aches all over, I'm shaking with chills and I get dizzy when I stand up. At least the headache is gone.

That's just the feeling one gets when the government turns the chip on and downloads all of your secrets. :usa:

That is almost 100 Americans dead per day from the seasonal flu. How many Americans have died from the "swine flu" so far?

I have no plan to get the vaccination.

You know what's funny? When you take Flumist, the clinic gives you a paper that says you need to call in with any side effects. So I just called the clinic and they say, "oh, we don't know about that, you probably need to call the county health department". So I call the health department, end up getting bounced between different places, and finally end up with a number for the CDC. I call the CDC number and the lady tells me I need to report it to the clinic I got it from.

Yay for organization!

I hope the extensive clinical trials didn't go the same route and miss the guy whose nose fell off :338::usa::crap:

;)

I dunno buddy, you're a good guy but I think you made the wrong decision. One rule of new gov't vaccines is try to be in the middle or end of the line so you can see if the guys in front of you are doing ok first.

My wife and I were at a restaurant today and two elderly people were watching my 3 year old daughter dance around, and they went up to my wife and said "Are you going to get her vaccinated for the swine flu?"

My wife said "No way. We don't trust it. They rushed it out etc etc etc" and the elderly couple said "Thank god. We arent getting it either, we're glad to see a mother being responsible for a change"

While I agree with her comment, I feel in the middle. How does one know if theyre being responsible? God forbid one of our kids gets H1N1 and dies within 2 days, you'd only have regrets for not having done something. And if you give the vaccine and there are side effects or unknown complications years later like the vaccines of the 70's caused, you feel equally as irresponisible.

Can't win, can't lose. My advice is stay the hell home, don't leave the house, order Dominos nightly and tell the pizza boy with a megaphone to "Drop the pizza by the door"

EDIT: Right after I hit ENTER a Fox News story came up on how parents in the USA don't trust, nor want the vaccine. It's on right now.
