Why are people actually taking Trump seriously as a candidate?

Sure he probably does have some great ideas on the economy etc. But the job demands a shitload of qualities that trump just does not have. Namely: tact, forward thinking, self-sacrifice, and not always getting your fucking way.

Plus we're in bad enough shape as it is. We don't need a risk-taking ego manic (who has been bankrupt three times) at the helm.

I lucked upon this forum and thread by accident and read your thinking. ......This is what I know: We are near, or past a "no return" point for western civilization for a number of reasons to much for most of you to come out of denial to accept. ....The only possible solution is a radical one that has worked in past crossroad points where great civilizations have either failed or jumped to greater success (such as when the Roman republic became the Roman empire.) .... All great savior leaders such as Alexander, Caesar, Lincoln, Churchill ..... were royal sons-of-bitches, BUT, they were their civilization's SOBs. ..... I, you, we, are desperately in need of a great SOB asap. ..... My first pick is the man who brought down the N.Y. mafia and cleaned up New York's Cities crime and city bureaucracy, Ex Mayor Rudolf Juliani. .... Politically he is unelectable for various reasons. ..... Donald Trump strangely know is the ONLY s.o.b. left that the country might go for/elect is someone in years past I would not have thought acceptable, for some of the bright and simple reasons on this thread. uhh because being a great businessman does not make one a great president. He might be good at what he does, but I don't want him for Prez.

All you need in order to be a president is to have an asshole so that people with money can stick their hands up your ass and use you as their puppet. That being said, at least trump knows how to manage money and has successfully climbed out of bankruptcy multiple times....something this country needs to do ASAP. That and Trump doesn't follow money carrots dangled in front of his face so easily, he is already rich and harder to control.

Because those you call friends, who share your tastes in thinking/ideas/values will very rarely share an conflicting idea or dare contradict you for reasons that should be obvious to even the narrowest of minds.
So, maybe in the final analysis, you don't want debate, enlightened debate, or new informed information at all.
