Why do I suck?

I am doing adult promotion and i can tell you that it is hard to promote porn, that you have had some lucky sales is nice for you but i can say (and i have promoted porn for more then 4 years now) that it is getting harder and harder to get quality traffic with TGP's and tubes sites flooding the net with free porn, and not to mention the shaving and cheating sponsors, big traffic leaks on the tours like email collection boxes (where you not get credited for )or pieces of posts from review sites, no if i where a newbie Internet marketer i would stay away from porn until i have had some experience.

Zany - I have tried that with no luck so far, but I am always looking for the opportunity. I just want to make sure I actually have something to offer someone before I bullshit them into going into a project with me, you know?

Chris - krs*marketing*@*gmail*.com (minus the * obviously). If you are serious, Id love to hear about some of the stuff. I get all of my options and everything, but hearing something specific can really go a long ways.

JohnC - Simple shit like that is easy for me to understand, and as plain and non-specific as that might be, it really does help. It isnt always the info that is good, its the way its presented.

_poto_ - I have no morals when it comes to porn/sex/women/sluts. No joke. I would fucking LOVE to promote porn. Ive been offered a job TWICE when visiting a sex shop. Me and porn go together like Danny Bonaduce and drunken drug stories.

I just have NO idea how to get a single finger in thar market (pun intended). But even your blog just gave me half a dozen ideas that all started with "Well shit, I could just..."

By all means if anyone has any ideas they arent using and don't plan on using, send em my way.

And as always you guys rock for the info. If I still had access to a screen printing setup id make a ton of WF shirts for you guys! haha

it's not just a few lucky sales... I was just using that blog as one stupid example of how to make a few dollars with little effort... I promote adult full time and have been doing so for over a year and a half, before that I played around with it a little and pissed away some time and money trying to figure out how to make a buck...

I run my own network of sites which is not open to trades... and I do agree that it's getting harder to make money in adult, but there is still some $ to be made... the porn industry isn't dead just yet ;)

also, I do generally agree that for most noobs it's probably a good idea to stay away from porn as it is very competitive... but if somebody has an inclination for it, and they aren't making much with mainstream, they could at least give it a shot...

I'm a big fan of the 'throwing shit at the wall' approach... something is bound to stick sooner or later...

do you have icq?

hit me up, I'll give you a few tips...

I will not say it is dead either i do still make money in it but i think it is not a place for newbies to get their feet wet when it comes to IM.

Maybe it is just me, after looking at and making sites about boobs pussies and asses every goddamn day it gets boring :( so Phre0nBurn i wish you all the luck in you're ventures, but be ready for a lot a frustrations :)

I'm totally fell ya...

when I started in adult I'd pop a woody just thumbing galleries... now, I can watch a full on lesbian orgy without feeling so much as a tingle :(

working in adult has ruined recreational porn viewing for me...

still, I think there is a place for some new people in adult... a little over a year ago a came in contact with a noobish blogger who was pushing cams... he hit me up and asked a for some advice on a specific script I was running on one of my sites... I helped him out with info and advice to the best of my ability (which I normally don't do, but I made an exception)... today this guy is making way more money than me!! and he's now a top 30 affiliate for a major cam sponsor... he's one of my most valuable industry contacts at this point... plus, he's returned the info and favors many many times over...

now, he's probably the exception to the rule... most noobs will probably just waste your time and drop out of the biz... as most people who start in adult fail... but ya gotta figure it's that way with any business, even brick and motor businesses have high failure rates...

imho, anyone that's willing to really bust ass and put in 20 hours days for a while can make a living at this...

there's always the chance that today's noobs might be tomorrow's whales... maybe only 0.00001% will make it big... but isn't it better to try and fail than to never have tried at all?
