Maybe he is driving a bmw from 90's. It's still called a BMW. Have you ever thought about that?

BMWs are a sign of the £30k millionaire. It's a sign of the champagne lifestyle, lemonade wage. There's a disproportionate amount of BMWs vs those that can actually afford them. I like them as a car, but not as an object I'd like to own.

They're pretentious and owned by everyone. They're a sign hung around someone's neck to say they've made it. BMW drivers tell you they own a BMW. They'll probably also tell how important they are. I recall my school reunion. I couldn't tell you the cars everyone drove, but I could tell you who drove BMWs, because they all told me.

It's the Apple Mac of the car world. It might be the best, but I absolutely hate them for the type of people the brand attracts.

(This is my impression in the UK.)

He is representative of the new breed of British Euro-wanker. He has the overly pretentious opinion of himself and a biased negative view of the "rubes" in America not supported by a real understanding. He is entertaining, but I don't respect his opinion.

Jeremy Clarkson is a very successful troll. He's made himself into a multimillionaire essentially by trolling anyone he can - BMW drivers, cyclists, the green lobby, the road safety lobby, old people, pedestrians, women, etc etc.

He's right about the X5 though. A SUV you can't go offroad with? It might as well have "I'm a tosser" written on the roof in big white letters.

i own BMW its really amazing car,,

I know a lot of people drive BMWs in India. No offence meant, you can never own a BMW in India while selling $5 services.

There is no way on earth you can afford the $900 EMI with that.

@Authoraji - yes, you can - you can pick up older BMWs for much less than a new Ford or Kia or something. If you want a really old one (10-15yrs+), you could probably get it for less than $1500. They're well-built cars, just like the older Audis or Mercedes.

amateursurgeon - BMW officially set foot in India only in 2007. Before that BMW was very very rare in India. And the ones those were in India were imported at twice the price.

I doubt when someone leaves a one-liner stating - "I own a BMW... nice car" he or she would actually imply stating that he or she owns a 15-20 year old BMW. Especially, if the person in point is peddling a $5 service.

Even today BMW is actually a show-off car in India. It is not affordable for the Middle Class or even the Higher Middle Class.

Offtopic P.S - Your Title should be "Kali Maa Shakti De" - The word Maa in many Indian Languages implies mother!

Mar = Die! :)

Because BMW drivers are cocksuckers.

The new generation of cocksuckers are moving to Audi, anyway.

in germany the transition is already done. bmw's are mostly driven by seniors and audis are driven exclusivly by cocksuckers.

In UK, most of the idiots drive Range Rovers, Jeeps, BMW X5 or some other stupid SUV. They have a huge 4x4 car in a city with narrow streets, and they are never taken Offroad.

BMWs + Audis are mainly driven by middle managers now.

Please, please, please we need to know the cars you own to be cool as you are.

that's so easy

Range Rover it's made in UK. Top gear promotes all cars made in UK.

Bullshit, they didn't give MG any praise or do them any favours. MG went bankrupt eventually and were bought up by a Chinese company who now builds them in China and sells them back to the UK. A depressing end for one of the few british car companies left.
