Haha, I'm asking for dating advice in a forum full of computer nerds.:error:

Anyway, my basic question here is do you guys think it's morally wrong for a 25 year old to date an 18 year old girl?

Here's the situation. I was at a bar/restaurant shooting pool with some friends on Saturday night. There is this extremely hot girl sitting by herself at the bar, and me being me, I decide to sit down and introduce myself.

So she's single, and she has an awesome personality. We sat and bullshitted for a couple of hours, and we got along great. Halfway through I say I'd really like to take her out sometime, and get her phone number.

This whole time I'm assuming she's probably 22-23, she wasn't drinking, but I didn't think anything of it.

So after I get her number and stuff I ask "So you go to MSU?" Then she says "No, I'm getting ready to start my senior year of highschool.":anon.sml:

I really couldn't believe she was that young. So I called her and she's acting like she's all into me, and I told her that I'd really have to think about whether or not I can allow myself to date someone 8 years younger than me.

To make things more complicated it turns out I know her older sister, who's already told me she'd kill me if I touch her, and I met her older brother later that night, who was cool with me, but gave me the "That's my little sister dude" look.

I told her I'd take her out to lunch today. I figure if we get along well enough then the age thing might not be a big deal, but I'm still having a hard time getting over it.

Any advice wickedfire?
 


I say who gives a fuck what other people think. It's your life, live it by your rules. I would not advise on anything illegal, but you're within the laws. Go for it.
 
Forget about what other people think... can you handle dating a teenager? I personally have a hard time conversing with girls who haven't yet hit their mid-20s (with the exception of my gf, who is 21).
 
If you want her, go get her. If you do right by her, who can complain? 8 years isn't so much. Some women are happy to have men 20 years older.

If it's love, you'll regret it if you don't. If you just want a bit of fun, you'll still regret it if you don't ;)
 
damn all the sudden your bf and gf or what!? just take her out on a date, if shes mature coo, if not, try an get some and ditch her

As for handling dating a teenager, fuck no. I dated a 19 y/o chick earlier this year and couldn't stand her after a week. This chick seems very mature for her age though..

As for what other people think, you're right. My friends have been giving me shit like "Hey Scotty, wanna go down to the high school and pick up some chicks?" but they're just giving me shit, so I really don't care.

This is actually what I'm afraid of. I'll end up banging her and ditching her. Not on purpose really, that's just how it goes down sometimes. The thing is, I know her older sister, and her sister knows a ton of my friends, so if I fuck this girl over it's going to piss off a lot of people that I know.

Fuck it, I'll take her to lunch today and see what happens.:hitit_sml:
 
I'm 36 and my fiance is 21. She is more mature, hotter, and is the best person I ever met. Age don't fucken matter. I have dated crazy old chicks and young ones that have just about ruined me.

My advice, check her ID before you go any further.
 
I've seen worse. In my school every girl that is dating is ugly as saddam hussein's corpse or they are dating guys that are 10 years older.

Don't feel bad/ guilty/ remorseful because this is a non- issue. She's of legal age and that's all that matters.

Some states, the age of consent is 16 years old though I would find it odd seeing a 20 something dating a 16 year old (but not illegal)
 
My Brother is 31 he dated an 18 year old girl......go figure, date who u fuken please, aint no restrictions......

but no really...age diff is fine, just don't plan on fuckin her over and youll be ok.

Make sure you're ready for dealing with the relationship. I dated a younger girl, and eventually I broke up with her because the age difference. It was my fault, and I let someone convince me it wasn't right.

I have a new girlfriend now, but that girl was really sweet and deserved better. Fuck what people say about the age difference, don't let them make you fuck up like I did. I really regret it and still feel terrible about hurting the girls feelings.

That's as far as I got. Answer: No. If she's into you and you can put up with her, why not. Just understand that there may be huge gaps in maturity levels, experiences, etc, and don't let it bother you too much.
