i spent a year in australia in 1994 and i constantly fielded complaints from the aussies that we americans thought were the global police. i had no defense for that argument then, and here we are 20 years later, still doing the same bullshit.
 
I don't get why we spend so much on the bombs. Wouldn't giant propane tanks packed with bearings and dynamite blow shit up when dropped from 10k feet? That's like a couple grand per. Or what about kamikazi drones with plain old c-4? Or fertilizer like mcveigh.

Depends on what is on stake. Is it oil? Freedom? Power of the middle east? Terror? Army involvement, in and out plan? Stay there? How long? How short? Go in Syria? Spy on Iran? Casualty analysis, and all shorts of money questions.
