Wife looking to start a mommy blog

Have her start a "painted belly" contest where moms paint their pregnant bellies and submit their pics and have visitors vote or like/follow the best one for a prize. You'll get the participants driving the traffic for you. Just make sure to have some kind of release in your TOS

OP, one of my friends is a mommy blogger... and makes bank doing it.

She started off by just writing about the crazy shit her kids would do at home, and "secret confessions" like she'd hide in the closet for a few minutes and eat chocolate so her kids wouldn't beg her for it, stuff like that...

Here's where you can find a bunch for examples/inspiration. Feel free to PM me, I can give you more input... PS: I'll buy a guest post :)

Well you can check out cafe mom, a forum/community to get an idea of the needs and wants of women.

Can confirm the cash is there.
Spoke to an affiliate manager today that said a mommy blog had written about a sale they had and coined £3000.
Not bad for one blog post... And she apparently doesn't do much CPA since gets much more from CPM deals.

boatBurner, I don't want to be the cynical one in this parade, but you have thought of possible consequences to having your wife in on a project like this? In all seriousness....

I've had several clients that tried to bring their wife to me for a "quick" little site for fashion, t-shirts, shoes, other girly niches. Take this with a grain of salt, but here's what you might have to deal with:

-It'll never be finished, simply because websites don't "finish"
-even if you put the framework together, she's still going to constantly need you for the smallest adjustments
-a new theme comes out and she has to have it
-you're an asshole for monetizing
-you're an asshole for not monetizing
-"I wanna be on Facebook"
-"I wanna be on Youtube"
-"Why am I not on Twitter?"
-When you get busy with other projects, you're gonna be "neglecting" hers
-"I read that spamming is bad for your website. You don't do that do you!"
-It's all your gonna talk about at dinner
-She never loved you anyway

Just saying, best of luck to you.

AMEN BROTHER! This is gospel for doing any sort of site for the bored housewife market...

One of the mommy blogs I work with makes between $30k and $50k a month. I can confirm that people can make bank doing this.
I'm in this niche for about 3 months now and still sorting things out. A lot of sites with massive follows push very two-bit CPA offers.

I had no idea the mommy niche could be this lucrative. :hollering:

She makes a majority of her money from CPM advertising. We're working with her to get a variety of monetization so she's not so reliant on the pageviews to make the money.

Lol have you ever trolled the bored housewife market?

Too easy.

I made the mistake twice taking on clients that could be described as well off housewives. Both were disasters. One was going to be a real estate, the other was a popular podcast by 5 women. Getting through the design phase was as brutal an experience professionally as any I have had.

How-to vids on YouTube. Also give some shit away and involve Twitter.

Good luck. Although nowadays when people tell me their gf/wife wants to start a blog I think I know how parents feel when their kids tell them they want to start a band.
