Wikileaks releases diplomatic cables

If I was the government, I'd fist fuck his merchant, bank and paypal account till it becomes impossible for him to receive money for it. The least they could do is 'chargeback' a few hundred thousand 'donations' and turn him into a credit destroyed poor cunt.

As an Aussie I'm seriously pissed off at his poor representation of Australian people.

I remember a conspiracy theory thread about this awhile back. so it was true?

You should get Fatal System Error by Joseph Menn. Some of the shit he talks about, including Google being hacked by the chinese, as well as many Government bodies, is quite cool. It plods along a bit at times, but certainly provides us Internet Geeks with some reading unrelated to Make Monies Online.

Two things.

1st: I'm actually surprised and pleased to know our government is doing some of this shit. TBH I pretty much thought we were totally fucked and China would be coming to rape our government officials any day now. It's refreshing to see our government goons still have some fucking balls.

2nd: I wonder why nobody (russia, china, or america) has killed this fucking guy yet? I can only imagine that this "insurance policy" torrent the guy has uploaded has something REALLY bad SHIT in it and he said if I die, we will release the torrent password. Otherwise why wouldn't he have been killed by now.

Wikileaks began on Sunday November 28th publishing 251,287 leaked United States embassy cables, the largest set of confidential documents ever to be released into the public domain. The documents will give people around the world an unprecedented insight into US Government foreign activities.

The cables, which date from 1966 up until the end of February this year, contain confidential communications between 274 embassies in countries throughout the world and the State Department in Washington DC. 15,652 of the cables are classified Secret.

The embassy cables will be released in stages over the next few months. The subject matter of these cables is of such importance, and the geographical spread so broad, that to do otherwise would not do this material justice.

The cables show the extent of US spying on its allies and the UN; turning a blind eye to corruption and human rights abuse in "client states"; backroom deals with supposedly neutral countries; lobbying for US corporations; and the measures US diplomats take to advance those who have access to them.

This document release reveals the contradictions between the US’s public persona and what it says behind closed doors – and shows that if citizens in a democracy want their governments to reflect their wishes, they should ask to see what’s going on behind the scenes.

Every American schoolchild is taught that George Washington – the country’s first President – could not tell a lie. If the administrations of his successors lived up to the same principle, today’s document flood would be a mere embarrassment. Instead, the US Government has been warning governments -- even the most corrupt -- around the world about the coming leaks and is bracing itself for the exposures.

The full set consists of 251,287 documents, comprising 261,276,536 words (seven times the size of "The Iraq War Logs", the world's previously largest classified information release).

The cables cover from 28th December 1966 to 28th February 2010 and originate from 274 embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions.

CIA has some bad motherfuckers in it - pretty sure if they didn't want this shit to get out they wouldn't have allowed it to. My guess is this will be used as justification for some serious anal-fisting on the general public.

Am I the only one who feels a sense of relieve to find out our politicians are doing this kind of shit? I honest to god always thought we were doomed because we had a bunch of complete dipshits in power doing only what's politically correct. I actually, for the first time since i can remember, have a positive feeling towards my government.

I see this shady shit Hillary was doing and think "now, that's a fucking leader. That's someone who will do what it takes to get shit done and make us safe and to hell with whoever doesn't like it". The fact she was shitting on U.N. faggots only adds to her newfound awesomeness.

Fuck it, elect her president. A bad bitch is exactly what America needs for a change. (male or female).

Wonder how many will be killed over this one?

I'm all for freedom , however what this guy seems to do is just to attack the US. Why doesn't he release confidential information on someone like.........Russia or China?

this ^^^...

95% of Americans will not give a fuck and it will be cleared out of our little brains when the next episode of Lost/American Idol/Whatever comes on to lull us back to sleep.

The Gov could easily assassinate any dictator but it's better international 'strategy' to let them make the first move (real or imaginary). Then they have a excuse to move in the military and help the fallen country rebuild (occupy them).

The US has been capturing strategic military control points this way for years.

Please name the countries which the U.S. is currently occupying on a permanent basis?

Since it's Obama who's really in charge, I say give him another 4 years. Doesn't the buck stop with him?

I thought he was either the weakest president yet, or a truly Machiavellian leader... one who speaks of peace while making war. Now I see he's employing the old "speak softly and carry a big stick" tactic.

Our actions with North Korea in the past few days... going forward with the wargame in China's exclusive economic zone (yes, it's a real concept), after China tries to save face, and giving China the finger with her request for more "6 nation talks" makes perfect sense after reading those cables. Contrast that with George W. Bush's non-reaction and constant backing down when it came to China and North Korea. Remember when China took those US airmen hostage and Bush was forced to apologize to China to get their release.... and China still kept the plane. G.W. Bush didn't do a god-damn thing... hurting the USA. It's time we start dealing with the Chicoms by taking away face and hurting them economically (QE2).

And I loved the way the USA is applying leverage on countries to take back their filth from Guantanamo. When Germany tried to raise a fuss, we reminded Germany of the consequenses of those actions. Germany backed down. Go USA!!!

Because he hates America. His obsession with releasing documents focusing on the USA has started turning away many of the people who were with him early on in the wikileaks project.

Secret war at the heart of Wikileaks - Online, Media - The Independent

These are sitting on Russian and Chinese documents... Assange said so himself... but he wants to "hurt" the USA for his own sick, twisted, reasons.

I didn't say anything about occupying but...

As of March 31, 2008, U.S. armed forces were stationed at more than 820 installations in at least 135 countries.

Once we move in we don't leave. The 52,440 in Germany, The 35,688 in Japan, the 28,500 in Republic of Korea, and the 9,660 in Italy and the 9,015 in the United Kingdom could attest to that.
Not to mention the Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan

I feel the exact same way.

All countries do this.. it's not like we are the only guilty party.

I'm waiting for confirmation that stuxnet was from the NSA with a little help from Mossad.

Laughed my bum off when news of that came out.
