True, but one of two things could happen, it could potentially get a "citation needed" mark on it. Or more likely it'll simply be removed by some douche moderator/editor as spam.

i was trying to get a wikipedia page down ranked in the search engines, removing a bunch of links to the page. A moderator got pissed off at me and then I decided to edit his page saying he was a virgin loser..haha the anonymity of the internet never ceases to fail.
