Windows vs Linux........Your thoughts.

I've used Windows server before but it was for a short term, forgotten.

Here's where the debate ends for me:
I know I can fix a windows server no matter how badly I fuck it up. I can get it back online.
With Linux, I'm not 100% confident I can do that.
So windows wins.

Whatever you black Mexican llama. A real web admin knows that the more alcohol you consume while fixing a problem, the faster you solve the problem!
You just don't drink enough, that's all! LOL
Honestly its whatever you are most comfortable with. Both OSes can serve fine most traditional websites / CMSs / applications / tools, so its really about what do you want to administer.
Personally, I like the low overhead and low cost of Linux and I'm just more comfortable with it.

Here are the windows apps for Plesk. Your pretty much have all the apps to run the same as Linux.

I've ran both... prefer Linux by a long shot. Ionno, I don't know enough about their security, back-end, etc. to actually choose which one is best so at this point it's just personal opinion.
I really hope you don't believe that's a comprehensive list of every web app you can run on Windows hosting.
Or, for that matter, that Plesk is somehow required to install applications.
not a big fan of control panels on windows...i like them on linux though because i'm lazy and like gui...can't really say one is better than the other...i do like that linux is free though...probably the only bonus I get out of linux.
