wow, i'm actually impressed

damn... Wish I had that in Tokyo this summer.

Would have avoided all the "surprise-meals" at the "no-engrish-menu" restaurants. Wonder if it reads Kanji

It's a free app too, lets try this out...

Edit: Free app doesn't do anything. Just an option for in-app purchase of the full app.

Dude, this has to be the find of the month. Shit. Technology has surely improved. How the fuck do guys do this? Anyone got the paid app? Im not on an iPhone anymore.

WOW - that would've been really handy for the 5 weeks I spent in Europe earlier this year.

Amazing, someone post results, no longer have an iphone (but I'd buy an ipod touch before traveling again if that works)

I wonder what its like with less straight forward fonts. Still impressive either way.

Im going to show it to my server and hopefully shame it into solving some more captchas.
i5 > iphone surely!

It's shit like this that is going to make it unlikely for anyone to ever learn a 2nd language in the future... Damn impressive tech.

Any chance this is a fake-out?

Hopefully they get Mandarin in there by the time our Chinese overlords take over.

It's real and downloadable right now for $5

Why are you guys so impressed by OCR and text translation?

If anything, it's the processing speed that is impressive.

In other news, I've got something you guys might like. It's this little gadget that lets me create a portable fire. Some pretty crazy shit.

After downloading and being confused trying to find how to use the translator thing form the video I realized that I'd downloaded World Lens rather than Word Lense... Anyway, yea, the free app reverses words, which isn't really helpful. I paid the $5 for the spanish to english language pack, which is the only one available right now (except for English to spanish). Definitely isn't as smooth as it was in the video but I was also trying to make it read a whole page all written in Spanish so it was probably, like I would be, irritated.

It does work though. I wish I had this while I was still taking Spanish classes.

Works exactly how it does in the video, as I expected. iPhone + apps don't use screen simulations like every other phone on the market so when you see a video of an iPhone doing something, it's an iPhone doing something--not a screen simulation.

That being said the app is free to download but you can only use the reverse word function and the Spanish to English or English to Spanish is $4.99. It's very cool shit, will buy it if I ever start traveling more.

Installed it and bought the spanish to english pack. The most impressive part is how fast it does the work.

It's too bad morons are spamming the review page with 1 star reviews because they don't know how to read the app description.
