WTF Adwords! $1k ripoff

So I had a google account banned on the 21st and logged in to find the big read message telling me it was banned etc etc. They charged me like 104 for the traffic...whatever.

Anwyay, wake up today that the sneaky slimy fuckers have charged me a further 400 and theres another 500 on the account...im like WTF. So I look...and without even an email the sneaky fucks obviously unbanned my account at some stage and commenced sending traffic and spent through like 1k without me being able to monitor it...because i didnt even know it was live.

How the hell can they get away with turning stuff back on without saying anything and running traffic.

I wouldnt have minded but they banned me on day 1 of the campaign so i hadnt even optimised it yet...so they have royaly fucked me.

Anyway, i've emailed them about it...bet I get some shit canned reply but im not paying it and Visa can charge it back.

They're crooks. When they banned my account for promoting a product 3 years prior, I asked the asshat in customer service if I could speak with a manager. He said "no." Now that's customer service!
 
Fuck em! I still have an account with an outstanding balance of about $500 from 2 years ago, I decided not to pay after they kept increasing the cpc's and lowered my quality score on some very good kw.This made me break even and rarely bring in a small profit.
 
See whether I get anywhere with them....doubt it.

For everyone who thinks of Larry Page as a white knight in the industry, the reason you have to do with this bullshit is almost entirely because of him.

When Adwords was being built up everyone working for Adwords was talking about how they needed a big customer support team, and pretty much everyone was in agreement about this. Larry Page stepped in and said that it was a waste of money, they should just have customers talk to each other when they have issues and answer each others questions. As a result, Google would staff a fraction of the support team they would have needed otherwise.

This happened, everyone at Google was thrilled with how few people they had to staff for customer support, and the people who use Adwords ended up with the shittiest customer support known to man.
 
You got me worried there for a second. My adwords account got banned a couple years ago, but I got an email yesterday with the subject:

Ok that's all well and good, but number 1, I never ran any ads for consumerpromotions.com or whatever the site is. Number 2, I've been banned for 2 years, why are you sending me this crap. Number 3, I've been banned for 2 years and you keep sending me emails asking me to come back to Adwords.

Luckily when I login I'm still getting the Account Banned message at the top, so they didn't reinstate me and start charging old campaigns. Be careful, they'll fuck you when you're asleep at the wheel.
 
So it sounds like your account was "under review" and not actually banned. Are you sure there was a red notice saying you were terminated?

If you do a chargeback, they may hate you and ban you for an eternity from ever advertising with them again.

Also, cardine, I've never heard that, but I totally believe it. Google is so horrible with support and they have gotten slightly better, but are still horrible. I've had an account banned before, emailed them and asked what's going on, have them open the account again and apologize, then two weeks later it was under review again and then banned again like 2 more weeks later. Then I asked them why again, they waited like two more weeks and then sorry we can't open it again or tell you why. That is slightly better than back in the day when you would only ever get a 100% canned response saying we can't tell you anything go away.

I read an article on Techcrunch a few months ago about how their horrible support was hurting (I think it was) their nexus phone customers.
 
What Google needs to wake the fuck up is serious competition. They've been sleeping on their laurels for way too long... treating customers like shit because they know we'll keep sucking their dick regardless. I really hope FB/Bing unite and do something big next year.

I'd like to dream this, but oligopolies are all too powerful. The difference between a monopoly and an oligopoly to the end user is virtually nil.

I'd love to think they will compete. In all likelihood, they won't, they'll share the market, and work at getting a larger share without decreasing margins. A slow tussle of giants that leaves the little guy in exactly the same place.
 
In regards to customer service I now ask a couple of qualifying questions up front. Half the time they get it wrong and I will ask for someone else. It really gets me when I'm 5 mins into a conversation and then discover I know more than them.

My account banned about 2 years back but I got the full refund.

Not sure if anyone done this before, but I would love to run on postpaid with these retards and run $5K+ and then cancel my CC so they can't get a penny from me.

I had a rep before they banner me, ironically when i sent him an email for help, he didnt reply. Another customer service guy said, your ban is final and this guy "XXXX" is no more working with us lol. After you get banned, they don't care much
