Right, but this isn't about running a stop light. It's about fuckfaces who think they are in a Ferrari and are therefore superman.
This guy was trying to run a yellow. He thought he could because he was in a Ferrari.
A friend of mine used to race and one of first things he had to train himself to do was look half a mile ahead. Driving at normal speeds we're used to projecting maybe a hundred yards ahead at the most. But at Ferrari speeds you cover more distance while your reflexes kick in, while you brake, etc.
Except he blew through a solid red a full 5 seconds after the opposing light turned green, meaning his light would have been red even longer. Running a yellow means entering the intersection while it's actually yellow.
It has always been happening, however it is extremely popular to publicize it now because everyone hates rich people and loves hating on them.
Because only Ferrari drivers try to run yellow lights?

What? You think someone driving a Prius believes they have the power to run red lights without getting hit?
FL has a serious problem with exactly this, so much so that when I moved here I was warned to count to 3 before proceeding through a light after it turns green. I've personally seen 2 accidents because people were running red/yellow lights. None of them involved Ferraris.
He wasn't trying to run a yellow like y'all keep saying because it had to have been a red for a full 5 seconds or more (assuming there's a bit of buffer between the light changing) before he even entered the intersection. The light was green for exactly 5 seconds before the taxi got smoked which means the Ferrari blew through a completely and unmistakably solid red. No running yellows here people. Get it through your heads.
