Yahoo just charged me $15,000

Yeah I had the same issue with them. What I have to do is call them with every new campaign you put up and have them remove the auto billing option. It is a default option with every campaign that only they can adjust internally. It really is a dirty trick and even after you do it once they don't tell you it only applies to that campaign.

When i was talking with a few of their "reps" at SES this year, i almost felt like i was on drugs. That's how dumb they are.

That is not true. They have a setting for the entire account.

I had two accounts at one time and they jacked with one of them and I had them turn it off. It has been off since almost the beginning on my first account.

They definately can turn it off for all campaigns, even when you make new ones.

Update:

I found out from my bank that Yahoo reversed the charges, but I still don't have access to that account.

One of the yahoo reps left me a message, but I couldn't get a hold of her when I called back. She said she knows what happened, but she didn't say what happened in her message.

At least the $15k was reversed!

Mhm. I can't believe there is no way to stop automatic billing without having to contact them and request that they do so. Pretty whack.

Hey fucktard, why don't you try calling the number yourself and let me know how that works out.

It's a fucking automated POS and all it does it say visit our help forums and send us an email if you still have trouble. Goodbye. Click.

When I called Yahoo, I was able to talk to a REAL person and he even had an American accent.

Yahoo does some crazy bs billing. I hate their autobill with a passion, it's totally scammy. ...and when the hell are they ever going to clean up their search partner network? Bastards...

1. Email them and tell them you want to switch to pre-paid billing.
2. Exclude traffic from shit sites.

Problem Solved.

Hey fucktard, ther are 2 options on the phone before they tell you to use the forums. 1 = know someone's extension, 2 = talk with a human. I call Google on a regular basis and talk to a human. It's really not that hard to get through to someone, especially if you spend any sort of decent money on AdWords.

Hell, there was a day in the past week or so where Google reps for large accounts basically had to put the large accounts on the back burner for a day and take care of calls and issues from smaller accounts.

Damn.

Turns out my account was hijacked and someone created a campaign that resulted in over $15k in clicks.

I haven't really verified everything with the yahoo team, but that's what I know so far.

They deactivated my account due to what happened.

my yahoo rep has called me multiple times to Asia and i'm not a big spender with them, well under 6 figures a month anyway. they always get stuff sorted quickly but can't quite get the time zone right (3am calls lol)

ouch - at least they caught it. google would probably then ban you for life for "association"
