Hey Everyone...

For NE3 I decided to promote a beauty/enhancement product. My lander is here: Landing Page

I launched the campaign late last night. Here are my stats so far:
CTR from ads to LP: 2% (41)
CTR from LP to offer: 22% (9)
Conversions: 0

I have learned a lot about ads, LPs, etc, but I am a bit disappointed that I have not had a single conversion. I have made several changes to the page including new images, content and keyword-based headings in an effort to test different page elements.

I realize that I have a very small amount of data, but is there something glaringly wrong with my LP? I would like a much high CTR from LP to offer but am not sure where I am erring.

So that's my first NE3 update. Any advice or tips on the LP would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you viewed your clicktale recordings yet?

And no, you don't have a whole lot of data yet.

For some reason my clicktale recordings are not firing. I have a support request logged.
As far as data goes, all my match types are exact, should I change a few to phrase to get more data?

Yeah if you have the budget for it why not, create a separate adgroup for your phrase matches though and negative match your exact matches within your phrase match adgroup, do you know what I mean?

Log into clicktale and make sure you have the correct domain ticked, there will be 2 choices, with the www and without.

I think so. Basically don't phrase match any of the exact matches?

No, keep your exact match adgroup, but when you create your phrase match do this"

"teeth whitening"
-[teeth whitening]

So copy all your exact match KW's and paste them into your phrase match KW adgroup and negative match all of them, then proceed with the same KW's phrase matched, confused yet? lol.

Yeah, that makes sense. Sorry for the stupid question, but what does this do?

If someone types in teeth whitening, my phrase group will be used, but if they type in "teeth whitening", my exact group will be used?

Is this just because phrase matches are more expensive than exact?

If someone types in "teeth whitening for my fucked up teeth" phrase match will be fired, but if it's just "teeth whitening" it's exact.

It's because your exact and phrase matches dont clash with each other for a start and also because it's easier to collect data and review your CTR's and especially ad CTR's on each adgroup.

And being more expensive is just a question of CTR & QS, the price you pay for clicks for whatever match, is all about the QS and CTR.

Sticks79 you have been more than helpful so far and I don't want to be a pest but did you have any thoughts on the landing page?

Put all of your bold text, heading and bold sub-headings in the same orange color as your "try easy white risk free" button, turn your green links into blue underlined links and just keep an eye on your clicktale stats.

Your page doesn't look to bad let's see how it performs.

Good shit man, now just keep an eye on things (clicktale) and go from there.

Any conversions?

None so far. Still hopeful!

It may be premature to ask this, but how many clicks to the offer page does it generally take before you can start to suspect the offer LP itself?

Also, should I be pausing non-performing keywords and/or adgroups to increase CTR?

A note to those using Clicktale: make sure that your page validates otherwise the visitor recordings may not start.

A lesson learned the hard way.

Well, I've paused the campaign. Over $220.00 spent and no conversions.

Apparently I was doing something wrong. Maybe the offer was no good, or maybe I should not have picked something with so many competitors, or maybe my landing page sucked.

I just can't continue to hemorrhage cash indefinitely.

This one's in the books. I'm going to be researching a new niche to try and launch another campaign soon.

Am I giving up on this one too soon?

Giving up depends on your budget, if your CTR to merchant has improved it's not really your landing page, but yeah maybe try a less competitive niche until you've got your bank roll up.

What was the payout for that offer?

The pay out is $38.00.

I guess that the money I spent was not wasted as I did learn some valuable lessons.

Thanks for the help sticks...

Yeah that's cool bro, & hey there is no rule about not checking out competitors landing pages and gaining ideas.

Just don't give up.

Well, I'm back. I have ceased the previous campaign and started a new one.
Unfortunately, the results are no different. Over $200.00 spent and no conversions, terrible ad CTR and terrible LP to offer CTR.

I hate to sound whiny, but I don't know what else to do. I have been tweaking the hell out of my LP, I have clicktale running and I am adding negative keywords to help increase "real" buyers.

I don't like to give up, but this is becoming very discouraging. The niche I picked seems like a relatively low competition niche as well. It's sure is humbling to suck so badly...

Anyway, that's my journal update. Not sure where to go from here.
