Ok, I searched and read through a few threads that were actually on topic, but I still couldn't find a good answer to this...

As many of you know now, I have been doing a lot of content writing lately.
Articles, Blog posts, Entire sites, even eBooks! I've been doing it all lately...

But one major downfall I have is.... Notepad just isn't quite technical enough to manage and organize these projects.

Is there anything out there that is free, doesn't require me to have a server/hosting, that can help me with this?

I need to basically take note of projects that a person orders, including specifics, maybe KW's, a place to jot ideas, a place to store links to content/media/etc., urls and user/pass storage for blogs that I am posting on...

See where I'm going with this?

I was initially looking for something that would allow someone to add a project in themselves, like where someone I work with frequently could just log in, post what they need, and then I can see it and mark it as done as I do it, but quickly realized I can't do this without hosting.

So, scratch that idea I guess... Any others?

I have Office and I know that it has some features that could help me with this, but I haven't really dug into it beyond Word, Excel and Outlook (just for syncing my phonebook between my phone and pc)...

Any ideas, recommendations, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys!

I've looked at that... and it looks effin awesome... But I have to reiterate the "free" part... lol

<-- Broke

So down the line, that might be an option, but as of right now, I need something free... It would be even cooler if it paid me :P
haha

Wow AMagz! I'll check those out! Thanks for the help!
+1 for you!

I'll write back and let you know which one I choose :)

EDIT: Apparently I've already repped you too much... haha
But it's the thought that counts!

There's a program called yWriter that's designed to help writers keep books organized. I've used it often to keep notes just like you mention.

Open a new writer file for each client, inside that you can keep unlimited "chapters" of content. It's worth a look if you don't mind the retooling

I figured out, I had the perfect tool the entire time...
Microsoft OneNote
:)

This thing is pretty effin sweet... If you have office, but haven't used OneNote (like I went over a year without doing) then go play with it

I created a "Notebook" (which you can create endless amounts of) for writing

Then a new "Section" for each customer

Then Im left with a tab at the top with each customers name (you can also have an endless amount of these; they scroll)

Under each tab there are pages I create on the right (once again, unlimited)

Each page has the specifics of each different thing im doing for them... I can create a new page when I get an order and I can edit it and delete it as needed or completed...

The cool thing about one note is... well... its note taking capabilities.

A simple keyboard shortcut (while holding the keys) allows you to simply drag a box over anything on the screen and it will automatically capture it and throw it into OneNote

It will even make out the text within images

I love this thing!

Thanks for all the recommendations though guys!

I love Evernote for notes and MyLifeOrganized for project (and everything else) management... and there's a little trick to make it free.

I used MS OneNote too in the past, and I thought it was the best around for a while, but then it started annoying me with many stupid little things that added up. For example, I somehow managed to make a styled background paper (with green lines and a flower in the left corner) the default - and I wasn't able to reset that since. So every time I created a new document (note), I had that flower and the lines. I can tell you, it drove me nuts.

+rep to AMagz for those apps from me as well, much appreciated.

LazyHippy, don't be such a hippy. Come on, I'd be interested as well :xmas-smiley-016:

In One Note... Go to Format at the top, then click Templates

The template bar will show up on the right side

There will be a list of main categories for templates in there... but look BELOW that list... there is a drop down box for "default" template

Select "No Default Template"

;)

Should solve it

Phreonburn: If you've got the FULL version of MSOffice, you'll also have Project Manager in there. I think the name says it all.

IF not, well, Kplato is what I've got running on my EEE when it's in Linux mode.
It's not as fully featured, but it does the trick, and will read other formats without a hassle.

Thanks, I appreciate it, but that's what I mean - I reset it or pick any other template as the default, but it doesn't keep that. It always keeps opening new notes with that flowery one no matter which one I set as a default. Lol.

Nevermind, I dont use it anymore. Thanks anyway :)
