So basically Google can still know our real IP address in spite of running something like ZenVPN or whatever?

Yes and yes. But even if they didn't have your IP they still know more about you than you do.

Google would know your internal (rather than external ip such as your ISP's ip or your VPN's ip) ip address which would allow them to identify your PC which is useful for stuff like banning multiple Adwords accounts, etc.

Your internal ip isn't used for the Internet. It's only used for your Intranet on your PC, even if you only have one PC.
