Jon Stewart is also hilarious.

It's funny how many people take his views seriously, then when called out about it will say "Nuh uh he's just a comedian that I like he's funny". There's a whole national mall full of them today. One giant circlejerk.

People going to a rally solely because Stewart or Colbert told them to are as bad as people going to a rally because Glenn Beck told them to.

You can't be serious about going because Stewart/Colbert told them to. The majority of the attendees get that it's a comedic thing in response to Beck's Restoring Honor BS. It's all a counterculture thing, right? People want to either be a part of the ignorance or be a part of the group that's against it. Group-think results? Possibly. But I wouldn't throw them in the same boat as Beck's followers.

Not at all, because it never works. His smart career move is going to be short lived, will type cast him (already has) and he'll disappear back into doing stand up--having no fans to support him. It never, ever works. So we'll see :food-smiley-010:
The way I see it, he's already in his 40s, is probably being paid huge sums up front now to work (he was paid $5mil for Hangover 2 plus 4 points on the gross), and doesn't have to drive across the country entertaining college kids that try to look homeless. Not to mention the residuals he'll likely be getting for the rest of his life.

I'd say it already worked out pretty well!

Bill Maher is a liberal queer but i like this. Probably the only good thing that's ever happened on his show.

Lol at anyone thinking that's a real joint/weed

Because it's illegal and studios usually dislike when you do illegal things on the air? Not to mention that it would get people talking about the show (see: this thread).

To be fair, the network could easily defend themselves against the police with this, because everyone could easily just say it was tobacco, even if it was weed.

Can either of you explain what was painful about it? I don't get it.

I watched Religulous with two friends that loves Bill Maher. It was painful to watch because I don't really like Bill Maher but agreed with some of his points in the movie. Also painful to watch because my friends are real religious and I don't care much for religion.
