Fuck you all

I have posted a similar concept few days ago.
The result? I got a "fuck off" by the Leader Maximus.

It was your approach. Jon probably read it as you saying what will happen, I know I did as I was skimming through that thread a few days ago.

The point is, we've tried a private forum. It died off because people lost interest. Part of what makes Wickedfire great is that all of the information is free and open for people to offer their perspective.

Am I saying that there shouldn't be a restriction on who can view that free information? No. I think, and as far as I know, just about every thread other than in STS require you to log in to view. If not, I know some are because I have gotten logged out a few times and had to log in to view the thread.

Now, I do think that there needs to be some restrictions on joining to make it so that it's not as easy as it is to create an account. Some have suggested a quiz, others have suggested an invite, etc.

An invite might work, but it'd also keep some people away who otherwise would have become amazing members of this community, simply because they didn't know anyone initially. A quiz would certainly ensure idiots at least looked at some important stickies, so maybe that's a better option.

I do think that there needs to be restrictions on posting until people have read some rules and stickies. It'd solve a lot of the redundant threads popping up, and I especially think we need them for SBT; for instance, only people who've made 100+ posts with 100-200+ words or more in them can start threads in SBT, so we know that they at least have made an effort to contribute to the forum and not just made a new account or spammed their way into it.

I don't think you guys realize that if we made this a "serious" forum with only threads about "how to bank" that the complete and total irony of this would be that it would look exactly like DP.

Emp and UG are right. STS is there for a reason, it get stupid sometimes but that's part of the charm of wf. The undercurrent that alot of you fail to realize is that it's this playful fun (and come on sometimes fucking hilarious) banter that bring in in all the pros. These pros then randomly sprinkle their wisdom jewels throughout wickedfire. That's my favorite part. It's like a treasure hunt.

If you guys want to post more serious threads, go ahead, no one is stopping you. Step up, if it's a really good thread, as mods we will be there to support you and attempt to keep out the trash.

Seconded - The logic some of the posters here are up to par with "great information, please share more of this incredible information" or "omg, I have never thought about this. thanks." spams, but made manually. Stupid people that act stupid and post stupid shit need to be banned.

BY THE POWER OF WICKEDFIRE! I......HAVE.....THE......POWER!!!

shooting the shit should be fun - it's an area to troll, blow off steam, complain and bitch. It is what it is.

However, I agree that we could boss up on the other sections of the forum and get rid of the retards. I too agree that the forum has taken a dump over the last 6 months. This is true.

There's too many noobs here to post any real information. Too many people watching. Posting useful information beyond the basics would only be you hurting yourself.

Need to just start banning masses.

I think most of us know who the quality posters are on here, and who the idiots are.

I for one am always willing to wade through a lot of bullshit to see gems of posts by some of you guys and gals, worth the wait.

So quit crying like babies and aim to be one of those quality people.

Exactly what I do. In an average WF session, I probably read through 95% bullshit and walk away with one good tip or idea. Shit, sometimes it's 100% crap, but I know this going in and it's worth it for the times you get a really good thread or discussion going.

I'm all for a little more "noob" control. Unfortunately to have a good active forum that doesn't get stagnant, you need to have new members coming in. So halting new registrations isn't a good idea, but I'd at least like to see a minimum post # before noobs can start threads. This way, if their posts are just complete shit attempts to boost their post count, they'll get the banhammer. But if they're contributing, then that's what we all want.

The VIP section is the other way to go. It could be by mod invite only.

It's fine the way it is. Don't visit the STS section if you don't wanna see some messed up bullshit.

But I do agree on the lack of quality posts though.

there should be a private invite only section for the forum.

otherwise this forums just too popular, and cleaning it up would be a full time job. i just ban dumbasses when i get a chance but its impossible to track everything

+1, updates are much appreciated.

most of the sticky threads are dated 2007 or 2008.
it might still be good info, but an updated one will be great

Jon should just charge some nominal annual fee to access the boards, 20 bucks should be enough to keep most of the fuckwits and peasants out.

I'd pay for a private section, but I think that would kind of defeat the purpose. If people could pay their way in, you'd have a fuckload of noobs like "Ooooh, I wonder what they are talking about in there. It must be really good if I have to pay to get in. Even better than the 10 WSOs I bought this month for $27 a piece! Sign me up!". It would be overrun by chumps thinking they are entitled to be hand held / spoon fed because they paid a nominal fee for entry, would bug the shit out of us and we'd be right back (or worse) to where we started.

WF is fine the way it is.

I wish people would be nicer though, some people here just like being dicks for no apparent reason. (not talking about dick-rolling newbs)

What kind of world would it be if everybody be walking around thinking they're the shit.

If Jon is looking for extra $$$ for new car he should def. charge for the B/S/T section and automate it, I wouldn't want an exclusive "war room" shit's just wack. :p
