Fuck you all

Here's my take as a relative newb:

If I want to write a serious post about making money, I never know where to post it. It isn't necessarily "Affiliate Marketing" as it can apply to any industry, and it's not "Traffic and Content" either.

It'd be nice to have a general Shooting the Shit - BUSINESS subforum. But I'm also stoned and still a bit tipsy from last night....

I'd pay for a private section, but I think that would kind of defeat the purpose. If people could pay their way in, you'd have a fuckload of noobs like "Ooooh, I wonder what they are talking about in there. It must be really good if I have to pay to get in. Even better than the 10 WSOs I bought this month for $27 a piece! Sign me up!". It would be overrun by chumps thinking they are entitled to be hand held / spoon fed because they paid a nominal fee for entry, would bug the shit out of us and we'd be right back (or worse) to where we started.

Good point.

If you're going to have a private section, run it like a private poker game. Invite only, obviously. But getting an invite doesn't mean you get an indefinite pardon for douchebaggery. If you keep pissing off other players, you're out until you learn to get along.

Being cool and fun to hang out with on Tuesday doesn't excuse you for being an ass on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

It works the same way with any group of friends, whether at the bar, on the phone, or online.

I wish people would be nicer though, some people here just like being dicks for no apparent reason. (not talking about dick-rolling newbs)

Actually, I think one of the good things about WF is that retards are ruthlessly flamed. Being nice to everyone encourages shitty content.

An invite only section sounds good. But I think STS should stay the way it is. Its fun to be able to talk about anything you want and I have had a good laugh from many STS topics over the years.

As Unarmed Gunman brilliantly put it, you can't just wipe the forum clean from users after a certain date. There are plenty of newer users here that have provided either a valuable service or information for the good of the community. While, I admit, I've posted more garbage then I normally would on a forum, most of it is in the STS section, where anything goes.

I think the mods here do a great job for what they are put up against. This place is nowhere near the pathetic level of DP or Wafo and people who think it is the same as those two don't last very long.

I do have a few ideas though that might be able to solve some problems:
- New members, under 100 posts can only post in the STS and Newbie Section
- They can however, READ all other sections
- Cleanup the BST section by wiping it clean and only allowing proven sellers/buyers to post.

I haven't been here that long and my opinion doesn't matter but it's better then posting a "u mad" picture.

As I can't edit my last post, I pretty much agree with jeffrey. I mostly post in STS section, as there are some real funny dudes round here who bite sometimes. An odd thing happens with WF as some things that I would have posted, would be best posted in the Newbies section, I instead don't post, for fear of shrinking my e-penis, and use the search feature and read existing posts.

Glad I got your attention. This is an open letter to the forum.

I joined this forum a few years ago, it was a source of THE BEST internet marketing information out there bar none.

These days Wickedfire is full of posers, rejects, and people just trying to be cool. There is no doubt in my mind that some of the previous best posters simply do not care to post here any more (I could make a list). There is a simple reason why, yall are a bunch of fucking retards these days.

The 'Shoot the Shit' section has basically become a retarded posting ground (including the anti-soccer posts I start and troll) and the Affiliate marketing section has long past its welcome. I apologize for that personally.

Am I the only one that wishes Wickedfire would return to it's former glory? The days when the best and the brightest posted here?

Instead we have political posts galore, or who is drowning who. Some of you think it was funny to start parody threads, but all it does is lessen the effect Wickedfire has on the overall economy. Big fucking woop Soupy is selling a course, there are worse people to be doing it. Big fucking deal if a dog is drowning, no one gives a fuck. Big fucking deal if I hate soccer, yall Euro-fags are just proving my point (get over it).

I wish somewhere some how, that we could return to power but we are not that far off from turning into a DP or Warrior Forum. Noobs need to be straightened out, shitty threads need to be put down, and at the end of the day we need to honestly know that we are a better source of information than anyone else. That has always made us great. That is why we have always put ourselves above the other forums.

So please, please, help stop the bullshit and realize that we are better than those other forums, and we can be the top source of information. We do not need to fall into the same tired pattern of other forums. Wickedfire is great because we can express ourselves without being banned, because we tell it like it is.

We need to reform to stay relevant. We need to castrate those who are not meant to be here. We need to stand up for what is right for the collective or suffer the consequences, because we are not doing ourselves any kind of justice.

I owe more to Wickedfire than most. I've learned, I've grown, I've gained recognition with research. I owe my current job to Wickefire. I think most people who've been here a while have done the same, and we have something special here. This is what keeps us above the typical status quo.

Join me in bringing back the power.

You are right, some good old posters don't post as much anymore. That is true.

And I do think a private, by invitation only area would be good (well, an active one; I know there is one)

But signal to noise ratio of every forum is a changing variable, not a constant, that is inevitable. This place has a great wealth of FREE information. Yes, FREE. And some great guys who do help out, and some great discussions. This is the best online marketing forum I know of.

Things do get dealt with. Look at the soupyone, or moe thread. Classic and wonderful wickefire at its best.

And in terms of bringing back the power, here is a suggestion: post quality shit, report spam so it gets dealt with, negative rep bad users, positive rep good ones, rate threads, etc.

Oh, and criticizing the forum over the shooting the shit section which you troll is not only ironic, but a low shot, since it has a name which, if you can figure out what it means, indicates it is for retarded shit. I read it when I'm eating mostly to blow off steam.

Eh, I don't know how much has really been lost. Are you talking about the "$300 / day guide" type posts? Those can be good for getting ideas, but they didn't make the forum. That's pretty much all BHW is and it's a cesspool.

I think the primary value of a place like this has always been that it's an industry hangout frequented by actual industry players and not exclusively wannabes and charlatans like most every other IM community in existence.

As long as the staff can continue to weed out as much trash as possible and all the cool kids don't start their own club somewhere else this place isn't doing too bad.

Jon should just charge some nominal annual fee to access the boards, 20 bucks should be enough to keep most of the fuckwits and peasants out.

I dont mind paying for a private section. But the question is, how would I benefit from it? I mean, I get a lot of people approaching me from the public BST section and if I were to get onto a more private area, what would it benefit me by as they wouldnt be able to reach me.

I still think that getting exclusive invites is the best way to get it done. If people want to post in the STS section, they need to be invited. Primo donnas here should get a protected section to shoot their shit.

the problem is nobody gives a fuck about helping anybody out mutually unless you're in a select click.

none of you guys give any specifics whatsoever, not even relative, non specifics, that could be used to make money

Quality members give you enough information to find out the rest on your own if you can follow them. If you can't read the message and you don't do the work you end up making posts like this complaining that there’s no substance.

the irony of this forum is anyone worth listening to is too busy to have many posts

You're doing it wrong.

Veterans should have their own invite only forum. The ones who already help simply approve people when they see good posts and boot people back if they don’t cut it. It would make the rest of the forum stronger in the long run. Just don't let the rest of the forum turn into wafo.

Agreed, issue with a private section is probably pretty damn complicated, it would have to be very strict, like only 1 referral of an invited member or something like that.

But yeah separating the STS section somehow from the sections where real deals are made and information exchanged could be pretty fuck yeah awesome.

ZzzzZZZzzzz

Nearly every forum I have been a regular reader/member of gets a post like this every year or two. Rah rah it used to be better in the old days, shit sucks nowdays why dont you kids get off my lawn.
