So you're saying they couldn't do better? Markus and the POF team have obviously done a great job with the site, but as a previous user, I have to agree that it could use a facelift. I wouldn't say it's hard to navigate, it just looks like it was designed a while ago and gone untouched. I think most here would agree that the design is not entirely beautiful. Perhaps this is to cut back on server load? Who knows.

LOL@dudes saying it needs a face lift. Yeah, it's not the most aesthetically appealing site, but it MAKES FUCKING MONEY. A SHIT TON OF IT. I'm sure Ben is LOL'ing right now as everyone throws thousands and thousands of ad dollars at him every week.

I think the point we are trying to make is that the site could potentially make MORE money with a facelift. Nobody is doubting that it makes money. Again, I don't know all the ins-and-outs of the site and why it hasn't been redesigned (I'm sure he has a reason, and isn't just lazy). That being said, I think you would keep users on the site longer if it was more visually appealing. I don't know why that's a hard concept for you to grasp?

Edit: Also, I'm speaking from experience, being a user on that site. I have also been on OKCupid and the user experience is much better. Since I'm the one who might be clicking on the ads, I think I bring some perspective to this discussion.

Agreed.

By the way thanks for the PM Ben. Magic kinda brings me to my point. Even though your doing quite well ;) ofcourse. WF is still a good place to get constructive critisism, i enjoy honest critisism, but rarely get it. And usually people in my real life are too nice to give it. Infact I find most people don't have the courage to do so. Your ad is ok, but i def think it can be better, i'm sure most of our sites can be. Not sure i totally agree with Magic tho, as i've found "ugly sites" beat out "pretty sites" quite a lot.

Either way GL for 2011.

As a regular customer of POF, I gotta say I enjoyed these two ads a lot & think they really hit the right tone.

But as an aside, one thing on my POF wish list would be to make it compulsory for users to complete the ''seeking minimum / maximum age' fields.

Because right now it's super tough to find the 18 year olds who have Daddy issues....and I'm more than half serious about this request. :)
