Google declares war on content farms

Will this be an instant thing with Google or will the 11.8% of the websites effected change over the next 2+ weeks when their Data Centers sync up?

As of right now my SERPS are up but I'm just wondering if it is a head-fake and I'm going to lose some link juice from the services that I have purchased on the BST forum.

I'm guessing that if this isn't total propoganda as usual, it will hit the Article Directories hardest. -Squidoo and Hubpages shouldn't be spared either.

Got any Article Directory owners in here?

win!

LOL at reading a Mashable article on CNN that mentions original content. Also, the sensationalist headline that will appear in the SERP isn't of the highest quality.

ezinearticles.com lost an average of 34 positions
hubpages.com lost an average of 31 positions
squidoo.com lost an average of 15 positions
articlesbase.com lost an average of 29 positions
buzzle.com lost an average of 30 positions
associatedcontent.com lost an average of 22 positions
suite101.com lost an average of 33 positions

That means that on average, any SERP any page on an article directory had was knocked back my about 30.

For some reason squidoo got away with only -15.

So , article directories will have less value now , buying links will get you penalized , link exchange it's not something recommended , web 2.0 websites ( squidoo , wiki ) , will get less value now , what is left to do , to create valuable links?!

I guess we should kill our selfs.

Probably mini-net vendors too to some extent.
I don't think rank is equal to link value. Getting mini net links is probably the same old, same old.

This smells of Google doing more manual adjustments (picking winners and losers) to specific sites. This will hurt bum marketers most. The people who rank articles for the organic clicks to landers and money sites.

You may just have to roll the dice on creating some quality content.

this has nothing to do with the value of links, they are just cleaning the results so worthless ezine articles written by akhmed dont show up when youre looking for slate roofing tips
