Religion Cures Brain Damage?

I come to that conclusion. After shit like Mass Murder Abortion and ideas like Eugenics. Atheists have a different look on life; not all life is precious.
I'm pretty sure death panels are next; that's me speculating.

So death panels would be the fault of the one congressman right now who is atheist? Well over 50% of the people who get abortions are non-atheist. The religious USA has high abortion rates while places like Finland and Germany do not.

^I think he's talking more about China, where Abortion is far too common because of their stupid law.

Even still, to blame such outcomes on people who simply find no need to worship invisible sky fairies is a real stretch. -What Rusky is basically doing here is called "Predjudice," because he is assigning undesirable traits like having a low apprciation for life to the whole blanket group "atheists."

FYI Rusky: I have no doubt at all that my appreciation for life is higher than yours by far. I've studied Buddhism deeply and think about the life around me a lot.

Oh yeah, I bet you didn't know that almost all Buddhists don't believe in a god, did you? Yet few would argue that they are some of the most life-appreciating people on this planet.

I'm just looking at the origins of Planned Parenthood and Eugenics.
Death panels will go after old and sick people, for the greater good of human kind.(Speculating, but wont be surprised if this happens in the next 100 years)
Black population has the highest abortion rate in the states (i think), and most believe in God. I'm just looking at the origins of the idea. I'm not saying all atheists are evil.

Those babies are in high demand.

sorry but none of us are remotely smart enough to comprehend what a "god" could even be so there is no way for us to know there is no god.

we only know what we think we know, which isn't much. Is god an elephant ? probably not. Did god send his son? probably not.

as we evolve socially and technologically our views on what god is will change.

all of you "athiests" who call religious people morons for having faith are just as stupid for being so closedminded to think there is no power greater then humanity out there.

flame on, i wont be back on this thread

Something of a tangent, a rambling I guess. Take anything you want from it.

To believe that there is an afterlife, or more importantly to work towards that afterlife, can be problematic. You miss the now, the present, the current, whatever you want to call it, the only thing that truly, essentially exists. Religious people worry that maybe they won't make it into their afterlife. If they don't follow commandments, laws, restrictions they might burn in hell or be snuffed out of existence. This fear might eat away at them. And even if they have faith that they've done what's required for the afterlife or will escape the flames by grace, the doubt persists that maybe there isn't even an afterlife to begin with.

And who can escape that doubt? We live in a logical world in a logical society where from the moment we are born we are taught to think and develop conclusions and finding a conclusion that supports a god can be hard when you see the depravity of the world. So, what happens when you live for another world, and yet are in constant fear that maybe, just maybe that world doesn't exist?

And yet people continue in their belief. It's easy to blame it on indoctrination, a lack of education, fear, and so many others things because look around you! So many cases where it's glaringly obvious. But I don't think that really gives spirituality, the divine, or whatever you want to call it justice. I know it's the internet and it's trolling and how futile all this is but I believe there is sincerity in everyone. What is the point of listing verses of dubious morality or making caricatures of faiths and religions? For amusement I'm sure but are there any real effects? Are minds or hearts changed? People believe because of things they feel and how can you argue against a feeling? Or even harder, an idea that is intertwined into someone's existence. And how can they argue back, pointing at the moon?

I think this eugenics thing is pretty interesting. It's really attractive to have a tool of any kind at our disposal that has the potential to stop so many huge problems like poverty, famine, disease, racism, etc... If properly used it is the ultimate weapon to fight ALL PROBLEMS with the entire world!

...But of course with great power comes great responsibility... And as a race we just fuck everything up, don't we?

If only a worldwide law could be put into place that demand in the strictest terms that Eugenics only be used via controlling births BEFORE conception, I'd be it's biggest champion... Sadly it is thought of by most as an excuse for killing children AFTER conception. And therein lies the problem.

I take it that Rusky believes that most atheists would be able to live with the blood of babies on their hands and that's why he's been so against us. If only we could show him that it's possible to value life here and now, without assigning it an immortal soul that goes to heaven.

Afterall, who should value life more? Someone who lives for 80 years, or someone who lives for infinity years?

From our point of view, it's illogical for Christians to value life at all... And the abortion stats in the USA back that viewpoint up, too!

I'm just looking at the origins of Planned Parenthood and Eugenics.

Well, Margaret Sanger was actually against abortion, and most of the racist people in the USA during her time were not atheists, just like today.

As for eugenics, Christians also have had more to do with that, in the US at least. There were laws on the books at one point in over half the states making it illegal for different races to interbreed. Some states still had these laws in the late 60s before the supreme court stepped in.

Many states also outlawed the mentally retarded and other groups from reproducing. Over half the states at one point also even had forced sterilizations going on. There were few atheists back then, so it had to mostly be non-atheists allowing this stuff to happen.

The other great proponent of Eugenics --> Hitler <-- was a catholic.

Queue the "Hitler was not a REAL Christian" bullshit now.
