i agree, but just like every other service for people it's gunna get abused. Just like unemployment, food stamps etc...
 
They've been had free cell phones in both Louisiana and Kentucky, offered by multiple providers with plans having 250 minutes and unlimited texts.
 
This is for the entire USA. It was created by the FCC to meet the goals of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which only 5 senators voted against.
 
Don't even get me started about my stupid fucking state. You don't even have to be a resident of PA to get welfare from us.

Yea the $10 per month comes from the universal service fund, which is being paid into by the big telco's anyway, and the phone companies themselves pay for the phones which are really basic low end phones. I don't think it's fair to force the phone companies into paying for the USF fund which I'm sure affects my own phone bill, but as long as I can fap to porn on my phone while driving I guess I'll let it slide.
 
PA's welfare practices are fucking retarded. When I was a kid, Allentown was the only place you could move and start collecting welfare right away, without being a citizen for a certain amount of time. City turned from a nice place into a shithole in less than ten years.
 
Welfare recipients are living better than most small business owners, but still bitch that they aren't getting enough taxes from small business owners.

Gotta hand it to the guy who figured out the utility of pareto's principle and slavery. Use 80% of the least productive population as the "whip" by encouraging them to vote for more lashes on the 20% of the most productive.
