I could have been more clear with that one. What I was trying to say is that when 18 year old christians here consider the military, now they're going to have to consider the fact that it might mean not getting a proper christian burial at all, and therefore not going to heaven.
There are actually a lot of really smart people in the military. And although voters and politicians send them to stupid wars, they sign up to defend the tribe.
Looks like I touched a nerve here. I didn't mean to insult the entire military here; of course there are some smart ones in the military... Someone has to make general one day. But you gotta admit; the people who are dumb enough to sign their lives away to this shit organization are quite likely the same bumfucks that bought shit from your worst landers, aren't they?

Plain and simple, they've been SOLD the idea of defending their country because once they join up the strictly go on offense.
Now, if you want to discuss 'realist defense needs' with some libertarians, keep in mind that most libertarians have a shitload of guns and a defensible property. (Or at the very least plan to aquire them once wealthy enough.) We are smart enough to see that joining the US military does NOT defend anything, it only helps your country steal oil. Meanwhile you have a damn good chance of being killed in the middle east and shipped home to a landfill.
