Ah fuck. Christopher Hitchens just Died.

inb4 bullshit deathbed conversion to christianity.

Great debater, able to cut someone down with little effort and make even the "intelligent" religionists (now that's an oxymoron) look even more stupid. He could hang people with their own words. The word "pwned" was made for use in the comments of his video clips, because it's what he did, verbally and cerebrally battered his opponents into submission.

He's a real loss because although not as decorated as Dawkins, he was a real force to be reckoned with and had the ability to find the right words to be able to make the other person look as stupid as they are. Verbal judoism, I suppose.

One day most of the world will wake up and religion can be stuffed right back up the arses of the deluded souls who champion it. There's no place for it in the modern world and someone like Hitch was a champion of showing people how utterly stupid they are and will one day be looked upon as a real driving force towards the ever growing swell of those waking up to religion's bullshit. I challenge any of the deluded to read, God is not great - How religion poisons everything.

There's a great Intelligence Squared debate with him, Dawkins and Anthony Grayling, which I will watch in his honour.

Ah Hitch was hoping you would pull out of it. Thanks for being part of the four horseman and will drink a toast of scotch to you tonight.

Best wishes to your family and thanks for your seething wit and reason in the face of bronze age superstition.

I speak to your memory as we know this is our only time around the park. Thanks for making it a better one.

Just got awoken to the news of this at 1am...

I've lost quite a few people in my personal life, and this is actually hitting me as hard, if not harder, than most of those losses.

I can honestly say that this man is responsible for a large portion of my sanity and grip on life...

Fuck.... I'm seriously going to miss this guy. I'm taking this like a little bitch right now, but I can't help it...

One of the smartest and best orators this world has seen in a long time.

Major loss for free thinkers everywhere :(

p.s. love the "Christians" figuratively dancing on his grave. They really dig their own don't they.

Was there a point to that video? Nice waste of 4:26, I stayed with it, thinking there was a point, and persevered to the end just to ensure there wasn't one.

Funny, maybe the video represents Atheism after all.

You really are a dumb fuckwit aren't you 1/17:

Hitch was a legend, very sorry to see him go. A few of my favorite quotes of his:

“Your least favorite virtue, or nominee for the most overrated one? Faith. Closely followed—in view of the overall shortage of time—by patience.”

“Everything about Christianity is contained in the pathetic image of 'the flock.”

“That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.”

“Exceptional claims demand exceptional evidence.”

“What do you most value in your friends? Their continued existence.”

yes indeed truly awe-inspiring statements

almost - dareisay - prophetic, as though channeled directly from

ps. sorry if this offends the atheist community.

pss. At least 21% of atheists believe in god. Could be much higher.

Very well said! Sad to see him go, used to love watching him work his magic.

I liked Hitchens. Made me research my beliefs more. Had really bad habits, drank to much.
He had a track record for going against the grain for a living. I dont think he actually took religion personally. He might have hoodwinked the atheists a little to sell books.
Last days.

It's a tragedy that he'll be remembered in America more for his lack of faith than his journalistic wit, which was echelons above the herd.

Rest In Peace Mr. Hitchens.

Rest in Peace? Really??

Rest implies an ongoing existence. He did not believe in any existence after death, so there's only 2 possible scenarios. 1 - he was right, and right now all that is left of his former existence is a body that will soon be fertilizer. 2 - he was wrong.

Neither scenario ends in peace.

May the person you call Spaghetti Monster have mercy on your soul...
