LoL snowballs too hard for a variety of reasons which leads to the incredibly passive playstyle you see in upper level games.
In lower level games players are more aggressive and willing to trade earlier on and try to go for kills in lane. The reason this doesn't happen at higher level play so much is good players know the value of farming rather than missing a bunch of cs to take 100 hp from each other.
Also with the buffs to heal some patches ago you now see all 2-4 players bot lane with heal making getting kills extremely difficult in some cases. It's pretty common to see the support with Exhaust/Heal and no flash makes kills even harder to get.
The trade off is you don't seem them just attacking each other constantly like low level play but you'll see far cooler more executed plays and ganks.
I forget which tourney but the Alistar who was playing on Purple / right/top side - ganked mid at level by going to the Blue side wraith camp. Holding ~ key to get to the edge of the wall so he doesn't attack the wraiths. Flash over headbutting the Mordekaiser from his tower then pulverizing him right as he flashes while his teammate mid rapes him and gets first blood on him.
In low level play you'd see the Alistar flash over the wall, be out of range for headbutt, get hit by the tower twice, get ignited, miss pulverize and then give up first blood and go AFK.

Like you'll see people who have been playing for over 100-200 hours still not knowing basic information about the game (like what time something spawns, or what a popular item does, or why they shouldn't be balls deep in the enemy lane by themselves at 45 minutes into the game and then getting mad when they get ganked)
This. Fucking This. I've played with people from other games with people who have 2000 games and still cry "x champ fucking op noob 1v1 me".
People in the lower ratings are so fundamentally bad and to make it worse they all believe the same flawed logic.
Shitty players
Believe: The reason I'm getting ganked so much mid is because I'm really good and the other team realizes this and is trying to shut me down
Truth: You are pushing to the enemy tower and you are not buying wards and getting ganked by a strong early game jungler like Lee Sin.
Believe: I died and it's someone elses fault. You didn't call MIA, why didnt you stun that guy, team sucks
Truth: MIA is not required and should not be expected it's a fucking courtesy / luxury. Look at the god damn map yourself and press TAB all the players who are highlighted are visible on the map those who are greyed out are not visible.
Believe: When I did I need to ping everything so I'm still being useful
Truth: Pinging like a retard after you die is fucking irritating and does nothing.
Believe: I'll play anything but support since support is boring / for noobs
Truth: A bad support player makes or breaks the bottom lane. A less skilled AD carry can beat a higher skilled AD carry if he has a good support and the other guy has an awful one.
Believe: Last hitting is not as good as getting kills so I'd rather go for kills than farm.
Truth: Each death of one champion reduces the rewards gained per killing it by 9% for the first death and 21% for every death afterwards, to a minimum of 15 gold. If a kill is easy to get then go for it but it is far more effective to out CS your opponent, out level him, zone him, freeze your lane at your tower and make him lose out on tons of CS. When you do push him back to buy push the wave to his tower to make the tower eat all of his CS.
Believe: I lost my lane because A. My jungler is not ganking B. That champ is fucking OVERPOWERED
Truth: If you lost your lane on your own it's your fault. Pick smarter and play better because there is such a thing as getting counter-picked. If you are Olaf playing against Swain you are going to get raped. Champs are ocassionally overpowered but almost never to the point where you cannot beat them ever.
Learn the match-ups you dirty bitches -

I have coached people in the past and everyone seems to think there is some secret they have to learn to be good. I play one game with them and see what their weaknesses are and it's almost always
1. Last hitting / Pushing / Farming
2. Making smart trades
3. Itemization / skill order
I make them go into custom mode, Summoners rift, no BOTS, pick their champ, buy no items, then try to get as close to 100 CS in 10 minutes as possible and close to 200 CS as possible in mid lane. If you learn to last hit and you play games where you see your opponent is playing poorly and you dominate him in CS you will most likely win. The player who practices last hitting vs the one who doesn't will dwarf the other guy by 40-60 cs.
I've had games where I finished with 400+ CS and my opponent had 140. VLADAMIR BABY
Next learn how to push so two waves stack up and you can buy and return to lane and lose as least CS as possible.
If you learn these two things you will win a lot of fucking games. '
The rest of that shit is acquired common sense, if your opponent is Gangplank and their jungler is Lee Sin, stack armor in lane it's super effective against double AD etc.
