Do you think the debacle over it will hurt his campaign?

I personally think he's been a big pussy about it. First he makes a small statement saying he supports gay rights to marry. Then he notes that Biden forced him to make the statement. Then he goes quiet about the issue.

The pro-gay crowd will end up being ashamed at what was merely a political statement. The anti-gay crowd now has a stronger reason to hate O.

A bumpy campaign start for the re-election perhaps?
 


I don't like Obama because he's shown himself repeatedly to be a corporate whore.

I don't like Romney because he's shown himself repeatedly to be a bigoted twat.

Maybe the debate hall will get struck by lightning, killing both of them, and someone not on the official two-man roster will get a shot?
 
The problem is you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.
 
Could cost him in key states. Some poll i just took a look at showed Rom at 7% ahead. However, its a nation poll.
The key swing states, this issue does play in some of those states.
 
I don't think it's going to have much impact, maybe in some of the more competitive states. He isn't making it a key part of his reelection platform and the republicans don't want to get dragged into a debate about this issue.

The republicans only strength is on the economy and whenever they get dragged into talking about social issues they lose the argument. The country is equally split between allowing/banning gay marriage and its trending towards allowing.

This is all playing out PERFECTLY for Honest Ron... Those two keep shooting really damaging blows at each other well before things are decided within the GOP. By the time Romney's through, the POTUS will have so much Mud sticking to him that Ron will look like the cleanest Angel ever to go into politics by comparrison!

Not when Ron's up there... It'll just be Paul and Obama on the debate stage one night soon, and they will both asked to speak about Gay rights: Ron's going to say this:

"I don't give a shit what you do: The government should stay the FUCK out of it."

...And then no matter what obomba says, the gay community is going to remember this flip-flopping and start to prefer Paul.

That nutjob invited a US senator to a interview on Austrian Economics and then pulls out his wiener to try to seduce him on camera... Under the circumstances I think Paul held his cool pretty damn well!

Do you really think the Gay community is going to dislike Paul for that?
 
Who gives a shit. The only people who care about gay marriage are religious zealots who think an invisible man is going to get angry at them if they don't kick up a fuss about it.

No rational person cares. Us humans have just a little more to care about, than whether or not a couple guys kiss, and get to check the "Married" checkbox on their tax forms.

I admire your faith that ron paul will get the nod. But my best friend is gay, and after countless conversations about shit like this with her I would say that most gays wont give a fuck if ron paul says he wants the govt. to stay out of marriage because gays don't want that, they very much want the govt. to stay involved in marriage because they fear the tyranny of the majority and ultimately want federally same sex marriage laws in place. I can't say I don't understand as american history is a litany of minorities having to fight, sometimes brutally for every scrap of freedom they get. At the end of the day it's hard to care what any politician says, save for maybe a few I can count on one hand, ron paul included of course.

It's funny how in the US this is "OMFG can you believe the shitstorm that just came out of Obama's mouth" news but in the rest of the 1st world it's "yea so what?"

He's on the right side of history.
