If you're actually worried about your shoulders getting tired from moving around, you guys really need to hit the gym more

Just cos you can military press 100kg for a few reps doesn't mean you can stand there all day with your arms up in the air, very different things.
 
I'm a beast and my elbows and shoulders and shit start to hurt from holding a paperback book in bed.

Then you have a poor sitting / reading posture, or are spending too much time in bed.

I'm not sure I can bench or Mpress 100kg ( ~220 lbs ) but I can manage to make it through a 90 minute boxing class, with 30 minutes of sparring, 90 minutes of Jiu-jitsu on top of that, ride a sportbike home, and still have more than enough energy and use from my arms to play kinect with the girlfriend for more than an hour.

Lifting helps out your strength, not endurance, which is what is required for extended periods of muscle use, even if you are just moving your arms around
