What would you value this site at?

Great niche.

Consider sneaking in some content surrounding what tight communities of military wives really care about and bond over - "The Bachelor" "Kardashians", etc. I noticed this firsthand dating a girl from a hard core military family. (Two of her sisters are married to officers)

These women belong to a larger group that almost religiously logs on to a private Facebook page on Monday nights and jabberjaw about The Bachelor/Bachelorette.

The appeal of reality shows to these women is a break from stress.

On some level you flatter your ideal reader by presenting them a site about themselves - now it's on you to give them what they want.

I just saw this ad on youtube, obviously targeted at me because I view your flippa auction... never seen targeting like that before!

Beyond running things like diet against your traffic, have you thought about creating a series of products on navigating the ins and outs of being married in the military? Obviously, you'd have to have some non-BS content, but I feel like you could really run with a series of short e-books, seminars, support groups, etc.

I actually intended to go this route, as there's a ton of information out there, but everything is so spread out and you can't be sure what is still current due to the constant changing of operations so I decided it'd be nice to put my wife's perspective and knowledge into info guides.

We threw in the towel before realizing it though.

I am a Flippa buyer and the one thing I absolutely try to avoid are sites that are ranking for good keywords. Because if the site owner thought those rankings were stable they'd sit back and collect their money each month. I wouldn't trust a site SEO'd by anyone else; who knows how lazy or sloppy they were or what update they are going to get hit by.

Sites with a natural following/brand are always what I go after. The ultimate litmus test for me is if the keyword "brand" shows search volume in the Google Keyword tool. Or I go to the Alexa listing for the domain and one of the "top search queries" is the brand itself (meaning the site has brand recognition). Those sites have some staying power, so I can buy them at 10 months revenue and not have to worry about them disappearing overnight.

Basewives.com isn't that yet (it is too small) but it has a lot of the ingredients for that.

Sure, but a website can rank for $$ keywords without heavy SEO and they might not even know it or understand how to monetize it. I agree you want to be very cautious with an owner who has claimed to SEO'd a site but that can be quickly investigated with a backlink profile check.

Personally, I wouldn't purchase this site because his wife has made a personal connection (and their trust) with her audience over time that would be difficult to win back without her.

Ahrefs seems to have been down for a while. Trying to extract some info for this site to show you guys.

Figure if we're doing a full frontal outing, might as well live up to the name.
