Earlier today around noon time I decide to go out for some lunch. I take the highway, get off on an exit, circle around a blocks and land at a stop sign. Behind me I see a white Audi..maybe a Q5, possibly a Q7..but those are pricy so I settled with believing it was a Q5.
Three minutes later out of the corner of my eye I catch the Audi flying right into my car and before I get a chance to react. BOOM. I feel my car lose ground and the back of my car lose traction from underneath itself. I come to a rolling stop and hide my money counter machine.
I exit my car and at the same time the driver comes out of the car (Tall, male in his 30's, probably Jamaican) and falls right onto the ground. Literally face down on the ground with his hands on his head. He rolls around for a few more seconds and gets up. He barely exchanged a few words with except for saying; "I don't know what happened.". He tells he will pull the car over to the side, and does so; I do the same.
I walk around my car and see the following. :crying:
I look down the street and see the following:
It takes me a few seconds to piece everything together but I realized that the driver attempted to pass by crossing over the double yellow lines. But once he did so, he noticed a car approaching him head on. Realizing that he wouldn't be able to accelerate quickly enough to cut back in front of me before being hit by the oncoming car, he veered back into the correct lane. Only issue was that I was right there...and so was my left fender.
I walked over to his car and took a picture of his damage.
It doesn't look nearly as bad as the damage to my car..but when he tried pulling it off to the side that tire had much difficulty rotating.

The cops are obviously called and we wait about 90 minutes. They finally arrive and take down my report. They ask the other driver to approach them and tell them what happened. This is where I almost bust out laughing. He told the officer that the two of us where at the stop sign..which is located all the way at the end of the street. You can see where the street ends in the above pictures..well he said we were there. That we stopped at the stop sign, I turned, and then he turned. All of a sudden, he hit me. He doesn't know how it happened.
Only issue here is that about 35 feet away from us right now you can see all the broken glass from my taillight and the skidmark. Even the officer brings it up, and the guy doesn't know what to answer.
I wait another 10 minutes and the officer provides me with a phone number to call tomorrow to retrieve my reporting number. I get home, call the insurance company and now waiting for the adjuster.
Oh..to make things better because I was so preoccupied with the incident, I wasn't following the markets and had a loss of $13,600.
