Screw the Audi!

just because the car gets torn apart easily after an impact doesn't mean it's a shitty car. it absorbs the impact by doing so. just like a ferrari. when one gets into an accident it will crumble like Martin's bimmer.

No they aren't imbo lol, I just had my whole front clip repainted (bumper, hood, front fenders, and a-pillars blended) for $750. This was from a professional body shop. Granted I had a "friends discount", it still wouldn't have been much more. I don't think my paint costs are off at all.

535 full wheel drive. Plus I have custom work done on it, logs nearly 400 hp.

Are you a car guy? I'm curious about the custom work you've had done to it. Manual or auto? 400whp (not crank) on a car weighing between 3500-3800 lbs is indeed pretty quick. It's not muscle car or super car fast, but for a NY daily driver it's definitely commendable.

The Audi quarter panel, guard, whatever, may have been rubbing on the tire and the first thing to do with that type of collision is pull it back up so the wheel can turn freely. It's worked for me in the past after hitting a tree that refused to get out of my drunken way. I drove that home to....albeit the next day.
Possibly, but it could've bent the frame and pushed it into the wheel.

Mgrunin, get one of these: Mini 808 CAR KEY Chain Hidden Camera Digital Video Recorder Card NEW 720 X 480 | eBay I've got one, and it's really nice knowing that if anyone ever hits you, confesses, then when it's on record starts changing their story, I have video + audio of the original confession, without looking obvious.

Yo u sure the Jamaican was just some peasant? Not like some 50 cent guy? Q7's are pretty pricey, knawmean?

You got custom work done? What does it have now? Vtec stickers go off brah

If you mean the chassis, it's probably unlikely for that type of collision. It's not a major impact, which is why I was surprised at the damage to mGrunin's car. The point I was trying to make is just because the Audi got towed doesn't mean it had to be. If Audi driver had of popped his bonnet, he may have been able to remove the obstruction on his wheel. Maybe, only speculating based on experience.

Only difference is that his plateholder in the back was a leasing company while I paid cash for my bimmer last year.

Why pay cash for it when you could finance it at like 2% or whatever APRs are these days and put that cash somewhere that makes you more than 2% or whatever APRs are these days?

Srsly though Audi 4 lyfe.

How much damage did the adjuster estimate? Guessing $5-6k

Just a bit off:

The adjuster assessed the damages at my local BMW servicing shop, so all parts will be coming from BMW, none of that low quality parts in the estimate.

Everything isn't completely set in stone, as the work progresses, the estimate of damages could increase if they see they need to replace additional parts.

No offense, but that plate belongs on a built car or at least a high end sports car, not a 5-series sedan. Of course, I'm not a fan of vanity plates anyway.

More like 4,200 lbs plus, assuming he means awd by full wheel drive. Those cars are heavy.

I know that, the major reason I snagged it was for my future cars. Basically as a reserve. It does make folks smile though. On a daily drive I would have 3-4 camera snapping at it.

Regarding the work I had done, I had a performance chip put in, which did wonders on a turbo engine already. Also had a cool air intake placed in and performance camshafts.

Ah yeah didn't see the awd.

It's still a relatively quick car for a daily driver that he drives in all seasons. 400whp at 4100lbs curb weight is at least a mid 12 second 1/4 mile car and has a 0-60 time in the mid 4 second range. Being AWD that thing would be fun as hell to drive around.

Sure, it's probably quick. I'm just skewed :p

Sounds like fun, hope they get it all fixed up for ya.

WRX with what I'm guessing is race gas in the cans. Boosted and race gas...tell me more. I'm genuinely interested.

WRX STi. It's E85 in the cans which pretty much functions as race gas.

full exhaust/header, intake, fuel system, KW adjustable coilover suspension, pulled/rolled fenders to fit wider tires, external wastegate, 19psi boost, all solid bushings/mounts, brake upgrades etc. Power should be about 420hp/450tq at the crank, it hasn't been on the dyno with the most recent mods and tune. Weighs about 3,100 lbs wet.

Sorry for the thread jack
