Low Carb Diet > Low Fat Diet

I'll have to check this out. Thanks bro.

What's your girlfriend eat?

I watched some videos on soy / tofu products, because she was keen on me trying them out, and I was shocked by what I saw - that shit is not good for you. I sent them to her and now she's reducing the amount of soy she eats, but she's backing herself into a corner unfortunately, because she's following me a bit and reducing carbs, and she is running-out of things to eat.

For her and many vegans, it's more about not wanting to kill animals, and so they have to fit their diet around that philosophy. She is repulsed by the smell and sight of meat (we don't live together). She's not hardcore on me at all, but I have to be sensitive, so I don't fry a steak when she's round for dinner.

The other thing is - my GF, who is Italian, has been vegan for years and not eaten animal fat since she was a kid, but she is really curvy up top and down below (sorry, no spoon pics) and she wants to lose some kilos. Personally I think she's super hot as she is but the point it - she's got this weight but she's not eating animal fats or eggs or fish. Her main fat comes from olive oil.

From the reading I'm doing, seoreborn is right about ketones.

Thanks for sharing your experience man, I'm also trying to cut down on carbs. I just had an omelet and for the first time I didn't have any bread with it. My problem is alcohol though, I do enjoy beer and I hate light beer. Do you still drink or did you cut down on that too?
try and switch to wine, especially pinot noir. They do sweet, semi sweet and dry from it. It has the highest count of phytochemicals so it's considered the healthiest. Also, the taste is worth it (if wine is made by skilled winemaker). I like beer a lot as well but drink occasionally. Red wine I drink like 3-5 times a week at least two 0,4l a day (sometimes two bottles while partying etc.). One thing that you should watch out for is proper hydration. While drinking wine (especially in bottles) you need to drink some still water as well so you don't feel like a sundried tomato next morning. Also, wine have less calories and won't stretch out your belly like beer can do (if you have several pints).

Ketones is really interesting.

They have also been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth:

The inhibition of malignant cell gro... [Aust J Exp Biol Med Sci. 1979] - PubMed - NCBI

And here:

"…Our present studies indicate that ketone bodies revert metabolic adaptations in pancreatic cancer cells to induce growth arrest and apoptosis. …"

http://www.cancerandmetabolism.com/content/pdf/2049-3002-2-18.pdf

Its plausible Ketones maybe toxic to cancer cells.

Cancer cells cannot use ketones for fuel, so when we go on a low carb high fat diet, we are both reducing the cancer fuel which is glucose, thus starving them as well as increasing ketone bodies that is potentially toxic to them.

Research is still ongoing for using ketogenic diets in the prevention and treatment of cancer.

About 14-17 months ago I went on a low carb diet. I've dropped about 50 lbs, no longer have high blood pres, and high cholesterol. Feel much better. Have never been able stick to a diet, but this one has been pretty easy.

I eat a lot of fast food and the following have been my choices:
KFC: Double down (2 chicken patties sandwiched together with cheese and bacon between them) with green beans as a side.
Skyline: coney bowl (hot dogs, chili, cheese, onions)
BK, McD's, etc: Burger, peel off the bun as I eat it
Eat a lot of wings and salads

I'm gonna get laughed out of this thread but if you can go raw, vegan, vegetarian, or pescetarian you will notice the difference. Combine that with exercise and you can turn yourself into a well oiled machine. Less sleep needed, extremely high energy levels, sharp focus, etc.

Out of all of those, raw is the pinnacle but its hard to maintain due to cost, time, etc.

You don't realize you're currently working at 50% because your brain has gotten so used to the permafog it's been in for your whole life. Cut out the breads and heavy meats and juice 3-6x day if you have the money. The results are scary.

It made me realize that I've been in a stupor for most of my life due to eating the shit that normal people eat every day. Stuff is not good for you.

Only downside is it can get boring, but I will cheat and enjoy beer and fish so I can still go out and have fun.

PS. My dick was solid before, but now its like its made out of asteroid material.

Good luck bros.

PPS. For those of you who look down on things like raw, you are no different than the people who said the internet was no big deal back in the 90's. I can guarantee that one day it will be the norm. Eventually, people will stop making fun of it and realize they'd rather live longer and feel better while they are alive and be able to still get boners past age 40 without some stupid pill. It just takes so long because everyone likes to make fun of shit they can't possibly understand.

Most truth I've read here in a while..

Yeah definitely. That's why I specifically talked about that in my second post. That shit is just as bad or worse for you. All of the fake chicken, steak, etc. that's all soy. If I eat that stuff regularly I can totally feel it. It saps all my energy and I feel clogged up and bloated.

I don't know how people eat that stuff regularly, but when you're full on vegan I guess you start running out of options like you said.

I could be wrong, but I always thought brushing too much kept the natural good stuff in saliva from doing whatever helpful stuff it's supposed to do.

BTW, I read your post about eating low-carb that mentioned you only eat meat once a day. What do you eat for other meals- lots of salad/vegetables?

Well the good stuff was not good enough to keep my teeth clean if I just brushed twice a day.

I eat meat at dinner.

For lunch I eat the nut breakfast as described here.

Or I can have any or a combination of fried eggs, boiled eggs, green salad with avocado and/or cheese.

I'm not strict on eating meat once a day. Its not something I planned to do but it just turned out that way. If i wanted to, I can decide to just have meat for lunch as well, not a problem.

if u want to look great, forget eating meat, bread, fastfood... do not eat sugar and salt... eat only raw food like vegetables and fruits... it has all necessary components to stay healthy...

Just released... a movie about sugar. Anybody watched it?

People tend to think of candy, cakes, ice cream, sugary cereals and such when talking about sugar. But those are just the usual suspects.

Sugar is in a lot of foods that are considered acceptable. No wonder we're all diabetics in the U.S.

Yeah, like vitamin b12 for example, is missing from a diet that relies only on fruits and vegetables

"missing" - maybe, but it's very easy for a vegan / vegetarian to obtain, and in older age (40+) many meat eaters have reduced ability to absorb b12 from meat and are the group highest at risk from b12 deficiency and related issues.

Its indeed easy for vegan/vegetarian to obtain. They just need to get a decent b12 supplement. Though it does go to prove that kinleo's claim is false.

Besides, b12 supplements obtain the vitamin from animal sources anyway, and taking the supplement is not a true vegan.

Thats interesting. Can you link me to the study that supports this?
