I'm trying to decide between the At&T Apple iPhone or the Tilt, what are your guys suggestions?

dude. The iPhone's camera does suck but seriously how many time do you have to use your camera phone for something like wirelessly emailing your buddy a pic of this hot chick in line.

Also, no other phone can log onto adwords other than the iPhone. Thank you very much

I like to have a camera ready to take pics of, well, anything - such as my 3 year old girl. I don't feel I should have to carry a dig camera around everywhere as well. What is the point to the camera if the images come out so grainy they may as well have been taken by a $10 toy?

Still, the iPhone is the best phone I have ever owned.

There is no AT&T phone on Earth in the year 2008 anywhere near the iPhone. The camera only matters if you are a photobug. When it comes to the web, iPhone, every other thing is relative and nuanced.

So hard drive space, MicroSd cards and all that other crap only matters if you really need it. But if all you do now is talk on your phone, text on your phone and check email and web. iPhone without a doubt.

Be sure to get the 16GB (14.8 usable). Being able to pull up the "real" web at any given moment anywhere is a banger. The only drawbacks are no Flash, so if you use ESPN and watch tv shows on the official sites or MSNBC video you'll be a bit pissed.

Also Youtube does not have every video that is on the regular YouTube, but shopping, price comparing on the spot and getting new places to eat and Google maps with directions are like daily habits for us.

Is AT&T a requirement?

  • If you get an iPhone, I'd wait until the 3G version comes out within the next 3 months. Internet speeds should increase drastically.
  • If you're shopping... take a look at the Samsung Instinct (due out soon), Samsung Glyde, Nokia Tube, all of which are "up and coming"
  • Verizon Voyager is a solid choice, too.
In addition, the first Google Android phones should be released in the next 3 months and personally, I'd be most excited to snap one of those up. You won't be able to get the first ones on ATT/Verizon though.

BTW, anyone in here interested in mobile technology? I'm working on a mobile related project and looking for some contributors... holler at me in a PM.

I just got an htc touch. Pretty damn nice phone so far. I miss the fact that it doesn't have a slide out keyboard like the tilt does, but the fact that its so small outweighs that for me.

I have the HTC Mogul which is a really nice phone. Looks like they added GPS to the touch which is pretty much all this phone is missing.

Looks like im going to have to upgrade :)

I wouldn't jump the gun on that! The touch may have internal gps, but no carrier has it activated. There is suppose to be a bios upgrade in the sometime near future to fix it, but I'm not holding my breath.

I have a HTC touch and it is OK.

The OS is crippling it.

PLEASE WAIT FOR SONY ERICSON EXPERIA X1

So i had an iPhone...waited for it 11 hours in line the first day it came out. Come to find out...i really didnt need to wait, but oh well. I usually go thru phones in about 3 months, but i kept the iPhone up until now. It has served me well. It lacks a couple of the little things that normal phones have...mms, actual keys, custom ringtones (unless cracked) and a bluetooth that isnt completely useless...What will be good is in June, when the new firmware comes out and developers can make whatever they want for it..FLASH is a necessity!! But i just sold it so i can use that money to buy the new Sony Ericson model coming out, the Experia X1....this phone looks disgusting and has everything...EVERYTHING i wanted in a phone since the iPhone... Check it out and be patient, and buy this one in June...

Sony Ericsson - Mobile phones - Overview - X1

Both the iPhone and the Tilt were too big and too heavy. I ended up getting the PanTech Duo, I really like it. :)
