$23/year? < $2 a month? From someone who has owned a hosting company that is amazingly cheap. Figuratively and literally. I would not bet my business on that hosting. That is pretty close to free. And free hosting always dies.

As someone who has owned hosting companies since 2002, I can say that it depends on the type of customers you target and your business plan.

I was charging $3.95 a month for hosting back in 2002 and I made a good living, eventually selling the customer base off for a large profit.

There's a huge difference between $2/month hosting and free hosting.

Bump for Subigo & his badass WF offer

I used that cPanel add-on domain thing today and was easily able to set up my 2nd domain in under 2 minutes. Great experience so far.

cPanel has addon domains enabled. You just input the domain in the addons section and it creates a folder in your root directory (just like a subdomain). That folder then acts as your root folder for that domain.

cPanel Addon Domain Documentation: cPanel - cPanel 11 Documentation : Domains - Addon Domains

BTW: I saw PRunderground go back up for sale ... any comment?

Thanks for the bump :)

As for PRunderground, I just saw that too. I'm gonna see if he is online tomorrow and see what's up. I'm pretty sure he came to the conclusion that it really is a full-time job running that site and just didn't have time. Whatever the reason, it looks like it's already up to $10k... he'll probably end up selling it off for around $12k.

Hopefully someone ends up actually dedicating a lot of time to it, because its competitors really make a ton of money and I think it should too.

I've had a site hosted at zensix for about a month and the service has been great. They are really good about communicating possible downtime. I have gotten emails from zensix, even if the server might be down for 5-10 minutes.

What are the server specs in terms of processor and RAM?

What made you get back into the hosting business after leaving? I ran a host from 02-05, and was thankful that I sold it when I did.

2 Intel Xeon Quad-Core E5405 2GHz CPU's (8 cores)
8 gigs of RAM

I got back into it because I like it... Pretty much simple as that.

Okay, I've had a few people PM me asking to extend it and you as well.

So, I gave it three more uses. After that it's done and I can't bring it back.

Just my two cents...even if you missed the promotion, any of zensix's plans are a good deal. I think I was one of the first few to sign up...the 1000mb, 75gb bandwidth plan...$50 a year. Good support, small company, and I believe I'm actually getting the bandwidth and space I'm paying for.

btw, I'm hosting 8 or 9 domains on this plan, with more to come...smooth.
