2 Months after buying my Droid....

Blah, but I can understand why they'd want to sell thru Verizon vs T-Mobile in terms of company size.

I'm using a MyTouch 3G Limited Edition myself. Though only the Droid and Nexus (ie: second generation devices) are gona have adobe flash support. But least my limited edition one will be getting Android 2.1 next month.

I can't fucking wait till my iPhone contract is up so I can trade the POS in for a real phone.

the fucking iphone is a great phone the only thing that blows is getting raped for text message that should be included in the dataplan.

I played with my friends droid for like an hour and when I was done and got back on my iPhone it was like going from a phone to a fucking Fisherprice toy phone.

First and definitely last locked down and crippled Apple product I'll ever buy, should have known better to begin with.

why do you say that my 3gs is pretty quick have you jailbroken your shit?

I haven't fucked with any droid phones but I'm thinking of switching cause this text plan just pisses me off.

Well least with Android, let's say for example you don't want to pay T-Mobile or any other carrier for unlimited texts (right now it cost me 10/month for unlimited SMS). Well google voice is free, and you just need an invite, once you got an invite you can send/receive all the text you want for free from your phone and its on your own google voice phone number (you can also setup google voice to be your voicemail for your phone if you're not pre-paying for your provider).

So thats one option in regards to the text messaging, shame Apple blocked Google Voice from the App store though, there's still the web-based option but not quite the same since you can't run most things in the background without jailbreaking.

I will tell you this much though, games on the iPhone/iPod Touch have a much better selection and graphics than on any thing I've seen on the android market. But I find the market to be far less restrictive than Apple, like I'd never be able to find Connect Bot or any other SSH terminal app on the Apple App Store.

I haven't done the jailbreaking shit cause I don't want to end up with a disabled phone. Fact is I shouldn't have to "jailbreak" something I own. I seriously hate AT&T and Apple and the two of them combined equal a serious bad experience.

It's an incredibly easy process, just stick with Dev-Team Blog , its far more likely to brick a android phone than it is to brick an iPod Touch or iPhone. Especially when you screw up on the iPhone you can just click restore in iTunes.

Been rooted for over a year... Run CyanogenMod | Android Community Rom based on Donut tree. these days.

My fender is rooted as well, except the only rom right now is based off the stock rom (ie: just like the original phone but + busybox + superuser, and whatever rooted app you can install after the fact). Most of the folks seem to be waiting til T-Mobile releases 2.1 for the Limited edition and the new 1.2 version of the MT3G before they bother making custom roms.

Amateurs... I'm still rockin' my G1.

G14LIFE!
+rep because i like you, and miss my g1. tangent/rant: wtf t-mobile would not in-store warranty my phone because they did not have any bronze models in stock (if my broken g1 had been black or white, they'd have replaced it immediately), so i'm on shitty "loaner phone" from the store that literally holds no more than 50 text messages until my "$20 overnight mail" package arrives, on tuesday of course.
well without rooting that, you are not likely to ever see Android 2.0.
Android 2.1 Coming to All U.S. Android Phones? [RUMOR]
i know it says "rumor" right in the link, but i bet we see 2.1 on g1 by summer, even if it's cyanogen that brings it.
