More taxes coming? You betcha...

Welcome to Europe.

In before the next UK/Eurotrash member defends paying high taxes 'for the public good'.

lol, well, you look at the wrong countries. Switzerland has posted a SURPLUS for 2009 and some parts of the country take only 50k tax on 500k earned. Also, after spain, switzerland charges the least tax in europe on gas. The thing is that a country needs to be EFFECTIVE and not just imposing tax on any possible shit. I always wondered why the IRS even exists... probably costs more to maintain their asses than they bring in.

Go figure.

Who the fuck wants to live in Monaco?

I do. I like Monaco a lot. Its right next to italy and southern france. 0% income tax and you can just get outside the country to buy shit without having to pay 30% the sales tax. EU passport ftw, yay.

its beautiful there, unfortunately a little overbuilt. But yea, you have to be a constant big earner or a wealthy person since rent starts at about 3k€.

Fort Worth SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS. Trust me, I lived in the DFW area for 6 years.

You must have been doing it wrong. I lived in (and loved living in) California all my life and actually was not thrilled to move to DFW. Once I learned about the place and let it all sink in I was OK with it.

Eventually things started clicking for me and now in retrospect, it was the best move I ever made, especially financially speaking.

When all of my family members were griping about 50% drops in their home values, mine actually ticked up by a little more than 2%. No state income tax, everyone carries firearms, hot girls, good food, lots of room, conservative state.... I could go on and on.

Did you see the link i posted, studios starting around 1200 with sea views if you dont mind a very small living area.

wow, you're right. no surprise that all those F1 drivers who are travelling 90% of the year simply have some apartment in Monaco so they don't have to pay any resident taxes. May.Move.There.

Real Estate Monaco Monte-Carlo - Rentals > Monaco

prices are comparable to nyc/west hollywood/etc

Weird.

I checked prices to buy not too long ago and it was really expensive compared to other markets I was looking at like NYC. I would imagine you have to go there with a real estate agent yourself to really get an idea for what things are like (I find Switzerland and Monaco have very poor real estate sites - hard to find any good info, prices, pictures, etc).

Not only in US, in Europe is even worse.

Way to group the whole fucking continent together. Like Ricdes said Switzerland and Monaco FTW.

The only reason someone would choose living in Texas over SoCal is for financial reasons. If cost of living is not a factor, you can't even begin to compare DFW or anywhere in Texas to SoCal. There is NOTHING to do in the DFW area, it's flat as shit with no cool geography, the weather sucks, I could go on and on. There are more ballers in San Diego than the entire state of Texas combined.

Enough of the ranting ~ point your browser to DownsizeDC.org and fucking join. Then send your favorite shithead a letter courtesy of the site. They just extended the PATRIOT Act for another year and did so by falsely ratifying another act: Civil Liberties: The strange things Congress did to extend the Patriot Act. So now, my fellow members of this forum, you *do* have a voice in Washington, use it. Use it every God-Damn time they spend more of your grandchildrens' money. And. . .one more thing, consider throwing your support - and that includes all of you non-voters out there - behind Ron Paul. He's the only one to actually stand up and say that Congress is simply bending us over and pushing it ALL THE WAY IN. Christ, I thought Bush was an idiot, oh, wait a minute, he was - but we have a facist in office who is not only intent upon taking over your healthcare; he is intent upon foisting any socialist policy upon the American sheeple.

No more Obama, no more McCain, and why hasn't anybody taken out Palin yet? If we are going to continue to exist as a nation we had better do something and we had better do it right fucking now, there is not a minute to lose. We all need to join this organization, support it, and effect a sea-change in Washington. Otherwise, they will be telling you what procedures you can have, when you can have them and where you will have them ~ none of us WANT or NEED this amount of control. Mark

Similiar sitch, my family moved to Dallas from Chicago, pretty close to Cali as far as cost of living delta. TX as a whole is crawling with hot chicks, you got the post grad professional hotties in DF/W and Houston, the hot latinas numbers in San Antonio, and the sexy college chicks in Austin. Even our own resident MILF, Turbolap, resides in Houston.

There are more ballers in San Diego than the entire state of Texas combined.

That maybe true, I don't go cruising for cock so I don't know where you can find the most ballers, but Texas has a very strong sense of self determination and entrepreneurism.

If you need to move to Texas because it's cheaper than Cali you should spend more time working on your campaigns than posting stupid shit on WF. Just sayin' ... it's dirt cheap for a reason.

Read my posts again. I never said I moved because it was cheaper.

You must not make friends easily. If you did, you would have seen a different side of Texas than you were exposed to. I have friends in SD and I love the place but ALL of California has felt like a morgue for the past two years now.

Your economy is shit.

Oh yeah, and take the median household income numbers for the country, multiply that by 4 and you get some sort of an idea how much I'm claiming to the IRS I made last year.

Uhm... doesn't Texas have a bunch of oil tycoons? What's more ballin' than oil?!!!

Hence the reason for my earlier outburst of disbelief.
Natural gas drilling is predominant in my area. In fact, our entire neighborhood has just signed contracts (we leased our mineral rights) to receive royalties for the nearby drilling. Add that to the slight increase in value makes me so glad I bought that place 3 years ago.
