You're killing an offer and everything's good and suddenly the network's pixel stops firing and you realize this after 3 hours. So for 3 hours, thousands of clicks are sent to the offer, but no conversions are recorded.

Later the network tells me "oh our pixel fell off..."

What the fuck am I supposed to do? The advertiser basically gets thousands of leads for free during those 3 hours? :angryfire:

Shit, I'm fed up of networks these days...they only care when they are making money...when it comes to crediting their affiliates and settling business, they frown.

Funny thing is - it is one of the reputable networks atleast in my books and it's unfortunate I have to deal with all this.
 


Uhm, generally they will credit you for the leads where the pixel didn't fire.

If they don't, find a new network.
 
Network has to credit you based on your typical CR. If they don't, fuck them and the margins they take for nothing.

threaten to start working with another network if they dont fix it? To put more salt on the wound, tell them you'll let all your affiliate friends know as well? Be speaking with a higher-up when you do this?

Make sure they credit you every single lead base on previous conversion rate (assuming you are doing something legit). Their pixel fell off is their fucking fault. If they don't, just drop in the keyword "wickedfire" and you'll see how fast they credit you.

Odds are it's the advertisers fault, not the network. Regardless, the advertiser still got leads and tracked them. The network can find out exactly how many leads were generated in those 3 hours. If the offer was set up properly, they were passing id's to the advertiser, and should be able to give you exactly what you earned. If the offer wasn't setup well, then you should get bonused based on your clicks and regular conversion rate.
 
Personally I've had this happen with more then one "reputable network" - the tracking breaks for a few hours and they say the advertiser won't pay them for it and never even bring up the idea of a "credit". Other times these same networks have credited me when it happens just not always.

Business changes wildly for networks and sometimes they have cash and are happy to hand out credits and other times they are strapped for it and feeling a bit stingy. I think it's very dependent on there current profit for that offer as well. I made the decision to not make a big deal about 3 hours of dropped traffic - I just decided threatening them would not be in my best long term interest.

I just tend to remember this kind of stuff when it comes to asking for payout bumps. But in the end I try not to piss off people(it won't matter if you are right/justified threatening people will always piss them off) that are handling large amounts of my money when businesses is good 98% of the time.

Good networks will instantly credit you for the time. I've had it happen several times, even when there was just a communication error and the network felt it was responsible.

No way. If you let them fuck you over once then you are a doormat and don't be surprised when they do it again for even more money. Advertiser got the leads/sales and any networks can and should credit you based on the amount of clicks and the epc that day, no acceptions.
 
Its correct. It happens many times that networks miss to track sales and affiliates are not credited. But Good network and Good merchants always think about the tomorrow. If you are a valuable asset for them they will surely give you credit. If not exactly what you should get, then they will give some overall compensation. I personally have faced this problem and we credited affiliates a lump sum amount.

Talk to network. Advertiser will have all data and he can find out all your leads sent by you in those hours. Sometimes it happens but just tell your AM to escalate the issue with advertiser. I believe most of advertiser does not want to steal leads and want long term relationship.

Just pursue the matter till they credit your leads.

I have the same issue as the OP. Same network, same offer.

Gonna give the network until Monday to fix this problem.

Yes I have very much considered that. I guess I deal with things in a very pussy way often enough. Luckily it hasn't happened again for more money.

I used to take a much more hard ass attitude and not trust anyone or take any shit ever. It lead to people just thinking of me as a dick and seriously hampering my ability to network. I'll let you screw me over for some money and still smile right back if you introduce me to something that makes me x100 times more.

A balance is key of course and I'm always learning.

lol. dont be a dick and take about your business in a professional manor. getting your money back doesnt have to involve being vulgar or obscene.
