5 yr old with leukemia is selling his drawings of monsters to help pay for his chemo

definitely a big no no. But you can send her to me. Im as big as a country anyway!

Actually as long as she is of legal age I'm pretty sure you can. It's the illegal kiddie/animal porn they are cracking down on afaik.

As for the health care 'debate', incogneato you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. I've lived under the Canadian, American and Australian health care systems, and I have to say that Australia kicks ass by managing to walk the line between public and private health care by having both!

Something that would freak out the sniveling Canadian tree huggers who simply ban all private health care (or at least did a decade ago) and hold their hand out to the gov't whenever anything goes wrong whilst wondering why one third of every tax dollar at the oh so attractive tax rate of 54% (top tax bracket in the province I lived in) goes to simply pay the interest bill on the national debt. Again its been a decade since I lived there, but that was the situation when I left.

Of course the Americans can't take their fingers off their triggers long enough to count up the benefits of public systems like health care, but will gladly and eagerly go invade another country so they can use up some stockpiled munitions and award another fat defence contract that they can't afford, so they simply print more of their already floundering currency and wonder why it will soon be cheaper to wipe your ass with the American dollar then to actually use it to buy toilet paper.

Yet people call the Australians backwards and stupid while they are able to maintain social systems as good or better than the Canadians at income tax levels comparable to the Americans but with little to no national debt. I still shake my head as a transplanted Canadian living here sometimes about just how good a balancing act they seem to have pulled off, but hey maybe they just got lucky, it is the lucky country after all.

But I digress. I might go have a look at the kids monster drawings and buy one, if they are tax deductible of course.

i bought the purple monster 2 to surprise my fiancee.
it doesn't seem like such a great surprise but she had thyroid cancer and had to have her full thyroid removed to beat the cancer.
she is going to love it since it benefits a little kid fighting cancer.
we try to donate to cancer research when we can and i do the MS City to Shore ride(jersey/philly) every year.

I just ordered his Wolverine photo. My first piece of art I've ever bought, I think.

From a marketing standpoint it's rather interesting how some ideas stick though.

I think it has to do with the "fuck you I will not be defeated" mentality. As soon as you doubt something even 0.001%, it all comes crashing down.

Cant believe I missed this thread. I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff

I bought mine weeks ago but nothing yet, must have sent it by rowing boat to the UK

Edit: just read the 6-8 weeks part, that explains it.

Instead of helping this one person who needs an insane amount of money send your dollars to 3rd world countries where people have malaria, polio and all kinds of cheaply treated diseases who would otherwise die and save a lot more people or do both but at least the latter.

Not being cold but who gives a fuck about 1 person when there are millions dying everyday of causes that can be MUCH more easily helped then this pitiful soul like malnutrition and so on.

20,000 to 24,000 people die every day from malnutrition
most of them could be saved with less then 5-10 cents per person per day depending on the country -

925 million people do not have enough to eat - more than the populations of USA, Canada and the European Union;

and your an aid worker? Why the lecture?

I merely petition to people to help a lot more people with the same amount of money spend in giving. I do distribute food in my local area to people/kids who need it, but no I am not an aid worker, do I need to be to have an opinion?

Why would give your food to people in the local area as their clearly not worth it when you could sell that food and send the few dollars abroad to help billions of people live..
