Left dissappointed that you gais haven't heard of more squatting... It's really rampant these days. (Like 1 in 10 abandoned homes USA-wide, evicted or not.)
 
I was reading through the comments on the article that Rage9 posted and one person talked about how there's a scam where people are paying taxes on a property and then some how come to own it or at least appear to own it and get a deed in their names. Does anyone know anything about that?

I understand how it can be done legally when taxes are delinquent. The way they made it sound was I pay the taxes on some random property and then I somehow get the deed.
Like I see you haven't paid the taxes yet on your house and you aren't delinquent. I go pay the taxes then I get a deed to your house in my name. I then proceed to tell you to
pay rent or gtfo.
