Acclimating to this Heat

If you use caffeine, cut it off completely.

Whenever I'm in the habit of drinking caffeine, my endurance is cut down to near nothing. When I've cut it out after a few weeks, I don't get winded nearly as easily as I would when I have caffeine in my system.

No idea why it works like that, but I've been on and off caffeine and have been able to confirm that's the cause.

Get some fucking exercise you lazy cunt. ( I mean that in a loving, caring way, of course )

If you're fitter, your cardiovascular system is more effective. If your cardiovascular system is more effective, you'll cool down more. You get better at sweating, vasodilation and breathing, your main ways of cooling down.

If you use caffeine, cut it off completely.

These two things would have the biggest impact. Everything else is shit.

Stop using AC, especially when you're sleeping. It's honestly not hot enough to need it at the moment and it's terrible for your respiratory tract and acclimatizing to the heat. Hopefully your bedroom has a ceiling fan, but they are not very common in BKK so just find the biggest fan you can find, it's ok to have like 10 fans going if you really need it.

BKK is always sticky, I still don't understand why you picked it. I get you like having the big malls for shopping, but surely living in Chiang Mai or on one of the islands would be a better choice? It's not exactly a long flight and you could easily do weekend trips to stock up on useless shit for you and the wife (hell you could even do day trips).

A bit of ba-mee kieo nam moo daeng with chili will probably also help (hydrate + purge the system with the chilis)

Maybe stop breathing that sludge they call air in BKK and go down south to the Islands? I never had any problem acclimating to the heat but goddamn if I didn't pee out my butt for the first week or so of every trip there, not sure if it was the spices, the coconut oil or the bacteria but not so fun.

Try green tea.

Easy with spice.

Luke is a Westerner, he may not stand spice.

Go easy with spice.

I would better invite you to drink green tea.

Green tea:
- Green tea is not aggressive, as spice is.
- Green tea makes you lose weight.
- Green tea gives you additional energy - punch, without negative side effects.

After lunch, you can boil green tea.
1.st round you boil hot water, and poor it over your green tea.
2.nd you throw the 1st round of hot water, basically used to purify the green tea.
3.rd you add again hot water, and you wait 5 minutes.

Drink.
Later add hot water.
Drink.
Add hot water
Drink

and so forth until night.

At night, you may drink black tea, which is soft, it does not give additional energy.

That is how we do in China, and in Japan, roughly the same.

Wow, didn't hear the Caffeine tip before now. Thansk guys.

I've been addicted to cappuccino for a while now, but since I moved I stopped using my nice espresso maker and have been getting my fix between instant coffee and lots of Matcha... Sometimes 3 a day! (Matcha is expensive, powdered green tea for those of you that haven't been to japan. It apparently caught on here since my last visit.)

So... if green tea is my main source of caffeine... I should cut down and take more? Oh the irony. ;)

Never heard of matcha.

Maybe it is a processed tea.

In China, tea is really the plant itself.
Processed tea is considered as a soft drink for fun.

The real tea, the plant, is considered as medicine, as long as it has not been modified.

You can drink REAL green tea as long as you want.
That is what most of Chinese do, as I do, when I am tired and need more energy.

In processed tea, they may add lot of crap, not good for health.

Humid summers I wear shirts with a lot of white and/or wear a tight fitting light cotton undershirt with sleeves (like the Gap stretch one with 4% spandex) under a slightly looser polo. The sweat's only noticeable on my forehead.
I was in Bangkok last month on vacay, it was perfect weather, I walked around for half an hour without even getting damp, but I was rarely in crowds. As an introvert, being around a crowd makes me slightly nervous so I sweat more.
